So I was running the automtic update to 3.0.1
But it said "failed to update"
now it keeps saying "Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute."
Even in the WP-admin panel :S

What can I do to fix this?

    FIXED ALREADY

Just wait. The maintenance mode eventually deactivate on it's own.

Make always backups, it's the unique thing that saves your ***.
Connect through CPanel, and make a backup of all files through "File Manager" (under Files category).
Then download the zip on your HD.
Then do a backup of Mysql database clicking on PhpMyAdmin under databases.
Here click on Export tab, and save your database without compression, selecting all.
    Download this on your HD.

Only after that try to do the update.
    I learn this after I make a disaster :)
And this will be useful in case you will decide to resell your blog and pass the files and database file to the new owner.

    See you,

Errrrr...that sounds like too much hard work.

If you are using cpanel just click on the backup tab and make a full backup, this gives you a gzip file with totally everything to do with your cpanel account including files, mysql, email accounts, stats etc.

In fact there is a php script knocking around on the net somewhere and you can install and run with a cron job which does it automatically for you.
