This is right. Google is very slow to respond to its "search engine submissions." My advice: buy a high pr blog and post your new URLs there for the quickest indexing.

Definitely. Submit valuable content to authority sites in your niche and leave your url on their sites. That's all you have to do to build "quality" backlinks. Then your site will be found. It may take time though but that's the beauty of it, my friend.
