Do you believe in posting threads on the wright section of the forum ? In your case being this one : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=80
Y u think this should go under religion... No I dn't wnt to relate religion in here. just a general comments..
lol. This is what I think why this should go under P&R (although this topic has been discussed way too many times) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reincarnation You can't have general comments about reincarnation if you don't discuss religion along with it.
And even more important, do you have proof that we will go poof like magic into nothingness when we die? People that live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones lol
and is it sensible to believe such. when even when you're reincarnated - would you know what you are in previous life? it would suck to know that youre once a worm in your previous life
How does that work? I would think looking at any dead person (or other dead lifeforms) is surely some kind of evidence (and proof) that we go 'poof' into nothing. Ever talked to a dead person? There's no life in them so the onus of proof lies in looking for proof of reincarnation as Will.Spencer said above you. Ps: I do believe in reincarnation (if you want it), just your definition of onus of proof didn't make sense to me. I've seen dead people and there's definately NO life left in their corpse. The reincarnation theory is still just that, a theory, where a lifeless body on the other hand is surely some kind of evidence (proof) that there is nothing beyond death.
Maybe if we kick the corpse really hard it will respond? Except it's not even really a theory, as it isn't falsifiable. It's just a kooky "belief", like a Cosmic Teapot.
Well sometimes when there's no sign of life doing that may bring them back... I considered a theory is something we theorize on..and on that basis we all have our own 'theories' on life and death. I didn't even know there were theories and, there were theories until I read your link lol I don't consider it 'kooky' as such because there are tales of people coming back from death. Many people report the 'bright light' etc and the tunnel and 'my aunt Jess was there to meet me' etc....whilst others say 'nothingness' so albeit surely strange yes but kooky (IMHO) is a little harsh.
As a person with many experiences of drinking tequila in border towns, I feel very safe in saying that whatever people see under the influence of the kind of prescription drugs they serve in hospitals is completely explainable. Hospitals have started hanging pictures above beds, in hopes that someone will experience the "seeing themselves from above" phenomena and be able to describe the picture -- which is only visible from above. To date their have been no successful reports.
God, heaven, reincarnation, just stories to comfort you and make death a little less terrifying. Grow up, face reality, shut up and die like a man.
In Hinduism, re-incarnation is not a comforting story. Its based on the Karma of the soul. For example, if your store of Karma in this life has been more bad than good, then you're going to be reborn on earth either as an animal/insect/bird/amphibian or as a human who will face a lot of hardship in life. It believed here that getting a human birth is a chance to attain salvation or moksha - liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Yeah, not just Gods but Goddesses too. For example, Saraswati - the Goddess of Learning Laxmi - The Goddess of Wealth You see, Hinduism believed in gender equality long before these concepts became fashionable Anyways, most Hindus consider these Gods and Goddesses as various forms/avatars/incarnations of a supreme entity - the one formless eternal God. This God manifests himself in a human incarnation at different periods of time to 'dispel evil'
NO. Only stupid gullible Hindus have it -everywhere in the world. Most funny is the Hindu Monkey god who flew (literally lol) 3000 km's picked up a mountain and brought it back, on his way back his sweat dropped in a river..a fish drank it and became pregnant with his child haha then he burnt an entire city because a demon put his ass on fire...hard to believe people embarrass themselves by believing, spreading and defending such shit. Whats the logic behind so many hands? And those elephants in the background..thats animal abuse. PETA...?
