Thanks Bondat! Worked like a charm. Now both alojate.com and www.alojate.com have the same PR. I love DP forums!
well, my little experiment (thanks to Bondat for the tip), is proof that google doesn't consider those to be the same domain (go figure). but now, following the instruccionts given, both www.alojate.com and alojate.com have pr4. What I still don't know if all of this will affect in any way my rankings. Hope it does!
Personally I think people should always stick with and promote the with www. version. As directory listings and various other areas cannot cope with both types and it certainly does lead to confusion regarding the PR of the site or page. Blogs are the worst for this, they often drop the www.
I also noticed that some sites have different PR using sites that generate live PR. some have too different PRs = PR0 & PR5 while others have close PRs = PR5 & PR6
Agreed. I think is better to promote www.domain.com In my case, however, my domain is also my comercial name (we say it when answering the phone, for example). But for search engines, I always go for the www.
Just an update: since I made the changes and both domain.com and www.domain.com are PR4, when cheking www.digitalpoint.com/toos/keywords I have the same ranking for both. Before the www.domain.com would rank better. I think this is a good improvement!
