Using google webmasters tool data for seo anchor keyword selection

    I organize the keyword list in my webmaster tools by CTR. Then I compare the average positions in a search for a particular keyword. The CTR and position should correlate.

    When I see a high CTR with a lower position reading, I think I should optimize for it as users searching for that keyword tend to click on my site. Thereby, increasing the position and doing SEO for that keyword will increase the CTR even further.

    Webmaster tools is particularly slow in updating the data though.

    Sounds like an interesting idea, I simply connected Google Adsense and Analytics some time ago, as it became available and now I can see exactly which page brings the best CTR etc. SY
