    Hello,
    i had a query.
I sell services & its very irritating to see client sends the requested amount but paypal eats the $$. Is there any way to calculate how much the client should send so as i receive the desired amount and client bears the fees?

I had a case where client sent me 300$ and paypal ate almost $13~ :(

There a quite a few payment processors out there you can use instead, trouble is that Paypal is somewhat unique in that you normally get paid instantly to your account. Ones like google checkout only pay monthly I believe.

You can also setup an online merchant account with your local bank but the last time I did this it cost me $600 just to setup and then it also has monthly fees as well as transaction fees too, so it's hard to find a win anywhere that won't rip you off. But of course you then need a website with a shopping cart integrated.

Here is how paypal calculates the fee.

    Send amount - (3% of send amount + $0.3 )

I think PayPal fee is 4.2% so send and receive according to that rate. there are some sites available to calculate the paypal fee. You can try them too.

For smaller sales, Paypal has a Micropayments account, which you can apply for specifically. It has no fixed fee at all, but instead you pay 5-6% on the transaction. I remember I did some calculations on that and I don't remember if it was at $8 or $12 per sale where you'll find break even, and then the normal Paypal account will be cheaper from there on and up.

But you have to get a specific Paypal acocnut, beside your normal one, and it has to be aspecific micropayments account.

I also faced this prob..and i do search on google..

Here the best way to avoid Paypal fees:

    1. To avoid fees when sending money choose “Personal payments” as this is free of charge both for sending and receiving Paypal balance. For your info ,Paypal Fees Policy has been updated. The fees for personal payment is $0.01. So you just check the box "I will pay the fee: $0.01 USD " if you make payment
