Trust me you’re one of the lucky ones. Even making that amount takes a lot of hard work. Most people don’t even make $1 per month.

It really boils down to your strategy really.

check out how the successful guys do it.
look at their business model, then model and emulate them.

As an example, I've been promoting Ewen Chia's Auto Blog Income Generator over the last 3 days.

I bought the resale rights to it, and priced it at $20. (instead of $47).

    Check out: http://ping.sg/read/Ewen_Chia_8217_s_Auto_Blog_Income_Generator_special_edition_delayed

the mispricing caused a spike in sales (cos other sites were selling it at $40-$47)...

Over the Sat-Sun, I had 6 sales amounting to $120.
so it isn't difficult, if you have a plan.

    Here's some suggestions to consider:
    1) What's yr blog readers profile?
are they young? old? profession? education?
look at yr blog stats or awesome stats (awstats) if your hosting plan comes with it.
i use secretwebhostingweapon.com which helps me meet my needs.

    2) What do your readers need? are they coming to you to learn? to be entertained? or something else?

my friend's site thejapanesearecrazy.com gives reader a laugh and a break from their work day tedium.

whereas my site www.WhoIsAndrewWee.com is aimed at helping bloggers and affiliate marketers grow and increase their income.

We both have differing objectives, but we both are successful.

    3) meet your readers needs.
Are you readers looking for entertainment? maybe you can sell them DVDs, posters?

Are they looking for self-improvement? what're the best ebooks or courses they might be interested in.
    ---
to be frank, i found ewen's blogging stuff useful, so i put it on my blog.
(after all who doesnt want to earn some adsense blogging income).
i checked my account and the orders came in.

but bear in mind, that they came in because:
    1) my readers had a need
    2) i helped them meet their need.
    3) in the process, I was able to earn some income.

please note that income isn't my primary objective (but i do need to eat!).
helping my readers meet their needs ensures that they find visiting my blog useful and they are likely to come back.

    does that make sense?

I beg to differ. I don't really get into telling people how much I make, however, I think by most standards I would be considered fairly successful. I know this sounds cliche, but with hard work, compelling content, and a little bit of know how, entrepreneurs can do quite well with pro blogging.

There are definitely personal blogs out there that do very well from a monetary standpoint. www.dooce.com comes to mind off the top of my head. My experience, however, is that unless you are one heck of an interesting person, blogs about "you" don't do very well.

Exactly. You have to offer something they want, and unless you're paris hilton, no one's gonna give a @#$! what you did last nite. :)

    yeah,
    i agree.
blogging solely to make money is evil.

and all blog readers (after reading a blog or two or three) will be able to figure out the scammers from genuine scammers from those who are out to provide useful information to their audience.

if you're doing recreational blogging, i'm sure you're doing it for the intrinsic pleasure of making people happy.

I have a travel blog which brings in a reliable (and pitiful) $5ish a day via ads, it's not much work, and no real reward. There's also a few other Wordpress based sites which vary widely between $0 and $20 per day, depending on who buys what from affiliate links - also not much reward for not much work.

I also have 2 personal blogs, one is about my experiences as a small fish web developer, and the other is about me as a human being - both earn absolutely nothing. But they're geared for real traffic, not $ traffic. And to be honest, I get more out of them that the $. :) But then again, warm glow don't pay no bills.

if you're into product blogging, then the new Affiliate Project X product might be something you're interested in.

i did a product review (as far as I could without giving the whole thing away):
Make $2,000 a WEEK or your money back!

I tried to earn $5 per day, but got nothing than 5 unique visitors per day (lol). Plz try to link as blogs as possible to get good revenue. Moreover, Content is the king of the kings.

    yeah,
if you got good content, you only need one person to point at your, digg you, deli.cio.us you, and the whole chain starts rolling and pretty soon you have a ton of traffic.
