Google keyword tools are best for long tail as well as short.
But you should check your keyword before choosing it that is it competitive keyword or not.

 

Use Market Samurai and set the minimum amount of keywords high and than drill down. I have the best success in setting it to around 4/5 keywords minimum. Don't forget to filter search results with 'exact' as 'broad' will give you unrealistic high numbers due to the long tail. SY
