If I a file is being downloaded, it won't get deleted. Relax :)

Anyways, I took care of the issue for you.

Considering that the majority of the money we pay every day is for PPD, and that overall we're dishing out more money than ever, I'm pretty sure people want the PPD plan to stay.

However, you're free to switch to PPS at any point if you don't like the PPD program.

    Good luck!

okay thanks for fixing my problem so quickly.

Also to add my opinion here. If a person has to wait 25mins between downloads that is okay by me, we need people to sign up and not just leech the hell out of the servers for nothing. THey need to join or these filehosts will colapse or lower payments. People cant have everything for free.

However i think it is madness for the files to be deleted after 30days even if they are still being downloaded. I mean people are joining to get these files and if they are gone then they will be unhappy with that. I agree if nobody has downloaded a file for 30days then scrap it.

Please reconsider this deletion rule since it is very bad for members and affiliates.

Well, FileSonic is good.. my second chois actually... but I think FileServe.com is better. You have one moure country (Canada) in the "a" section and you get 5% of every premium sale togheter with the pay per download program. The download speed for free users is also better, not always a good thing when you want people to pay.. but the download page is a little more messier than others, so people still upgrade;)

Don't mean to make a 'thing' out of this, but I just can't let that one pass lol - 10mins is not even close to the lowest wait time out there. RS is between 75secs and 0secs, MU is approx 30-60secs etc etc etc.
I'm not saying 10mins is too long - seemed fine to me, but any more is too much in my opinion, and would put me off bothering with filesonic links at all, which is of course counter-productive.
Yes - there are other hosts out there with longer wait times / download limits, but let's be honest about this ... they are not as popular (I mean most people loath oron for example). It's like this ... when someone posts a file they may not offer multi-mirrors, but someone else sure will. Now as I look at the list of mirrors, which do I choose ? Do I go for the one that makes me wait for a long time, or do I choose the one that doesn't ? The answer's obvious. How that converts to premium sales is another matter, but the facts speak for themselves, ie if people don't use the service, don't visit the website, and bypass filesonic links in favour of less waiting time, then how can you ever have any chance of selling them a premium account ?

Not sure what else to say really - don't want to come over all confrontational, just rather concerned about this.

If you want balance, use rate system like hotfile, or change to 50% of current PPD and 30% sale.

Since last month, you do some change to decrease our PPD earning. Right now you want to do more?

I think this new 25-minute wait time between downloads is a bit excessive. Downloaders will most likely just look elsewhere and maybe come back only if they can't find anything. I don't think this tactic will strong-arm zillions of new sales. I know when I see this I say fughetaboudit and just move on. The same scene will be posted on another host eventually if not the same day or hour. Obvious strong-arm tactics turn me right off to that host. I'm not saying filesonic is yanking guys by the tie to make sales but it is in no position to either. I know my sales and downloads have already dropped off a cliff lately as is and it sounds like a lot of others are having the same problem.

Guys, I already mentioned that the new timer is a test. We are not 'strong-arming' the free users, nor are we pushing users away. Believe me, we would not take a decision that would hurt our growth and momentum. FileSonic is bigger than ever and I can assure you that it will continue to grow.

Over the next while, we will be running a series of tests to find the right balance for both us and our affiliates.

You're right, but I should have been more specific. I was referring to hosts that use a real affiliate-based model, as those are the ones in our same category. When you pay your uploaders generously, things tend to change a bit. :)

    Ok.
I will hope that after 30 days my files will be in place...
yes filesonic is a little lagee, but i don t know any better website,i have tryed depositfiles and fileserve but it is unreal to make some money there... in depositfiles i have about 30000 downloads, but they paied only for 6000 downloads...it was sad.I dont try fileserve for long time because i found filesonic.:) In fileserve are cheap downloads.

Maybe someone know something similar, with better quality then filesonic?
But for now im happy with filesonic.:)

    Sorry for bad english..

    With best regards.

Is there any way to display stats from both plans (ppd and pps) even though you can only choose one? This way one could compare and switch accordingly. This should be a very easy change unless there is a reason for it.

First, I am not opposed to the 25 min wait time per se. I just do not believe it is wise to marry it to a 24 hr reset.

Whether or not you are correct about lower resets being marketing gimmicks, psychologically it makes a big difference. Users are going to have a different view of a host which continually has a 25 min wait time as opposed to a host with a wait time which resets back to 30 seconds many times throughout the day. The 25 min wait time will be burned into the mind in the first instance, while the second instance will have no such stigma even if the download total between the two are equal. Free users are not going to sit there with a calculator, they'll just tend to remember what they see.

One other suggestion: As to bustxpress' post considering link expiration. Perhaps it would be wise to extend the 30 minute expiration if you are including the 25 min wait time in such a calculation. bustxpress is quite correct that this expiration is thus effectively only 5 min in this instance, which could be easily missed unless a user is sitting in front of his computer waiting for the 25 min to count down. Free users may wait 25 min, but very few are going to wait 50 min and go through the bother time and again of restarting that wait time.

Again, I do not have a problem with a 25 min wait time. I do hope you take the above into consideration during the tests however.

The reason is server load. Doing this diverts resources which would otherwise be allocated to uploading and/or downloading capability.

Ha ha, you are so funny :D
Such a question in the topic of FSn.

They are testing a lot of things on the site. We have to survive, despite the fact that earnings are falling. They also must earn. :)
