    My impression is No. I think these will each rank better in their geographical area, then they will for other areas. Whether they will rank better than a .com will in thier area remains to be seen.

    That the domain extension is irrelevant. Whether you have a .org, .com, .edu, .gov, or anything else is not what determines your SE ranking.

    I have many .org sites having good serps & PR rankings... but that cant be considered as a distinct advantage or proof.

    I made a site drumindia.org a year back. Didn't do anything for seo and now its PR4. Google shows only 2 backlinks of PR 2 each.
