I had one game on homepage today, it get some 1k people but only few people digged it in that short time it was on homepage, so it just dissapeared after maybe 1 hour.
So, I believe that Digg has chenged something in its algorhitam, cause I havent noticed this before.
I dont believe it has been burried cause there was no buried comment as it usually happened.

And it depends about clicks - lot of diggers are ad blinded and dont click on ads, but I had a story ones that get me some 10000-15000 visits, and maybe 500 clkicks, so it is still good do have some homepage :)

Yes I agree it is not all about adsense. The number of backlinks, bookmarks and buzz it can create is really valuable for long-term popularity of your site.

"So was it worth it in terms of money? No! I have actually lost money as a result."

    - another worthless blog, another spam attempt that fell through. Unless you are submitting quality to Digg you will get buried and won't get many ad-clicks. SEO blogs are a dime a dozen, if people concentrated on producing actual decent sites with GOOD content then digg MAY work well, but if people are considering Digg for hits and clicks I'll have to opt for don't bother, waste of time.

    I read it.

I have been on the front page more than a few times, for decent stories not spam crap.

Say that to Weblogs Inc. They seems to make a lot of money out of those geeks who don't click ads.

Since Digg created all sorts of different categories, only TECH stories are shown on the front page.
I agree with those speaking of residual benefits.
If you are looking for publisher income, spend more time on SEO and less on submitting to these sites.

Sure, that extra few bucks is nice- but it is certainly not anything resembling a long-term business model.

    What's that you say?
You don't have a business model?
Well, good luck to you in your endeavors then...because luck is all you have.

I had one front page digg, and it lasted for a while. unfortunately my server couldn't handle it. oh well, next time I guess. :)

as far as answering your question: this was a site serving 500,000 pageviews a day before it got dugg. after the front paging, the server was basically non-responsive. I don't know how much traffic it was, but it must have been quite a bit.
