I have got in top with Primary Keyword How should i Get in top with SEcondary keyword

Hi,

I have got top with a keyword " Freelance Web Designer Hyderabad "

Now i want to get in top with the secondary keyword also say " Freelance Web Designer "

How should i Do SEO ?

Should I follow the same which i have followed for the Primary Keyword ?

Please suggest

I would if it worked for you. Is the secondary more competitive? I would guess yes so you will probably have to do more work.

You will never rank for that keyword! Sorry...unless you have a couple thousand dollars to throw at your website.

Even Freelance Web Designer India will be tough to rank for. Better to target individual Geo Terms.

For instance Build pages for each of your surrounding cities targeting Freelance Web Designer + City name.

 

We need to see your site URL first before guessing the potential of reaching top ranking for more globally targeted keyword.

But, if you are targeting to rank in Google.com, then you need to get more common backlinks from .com, .org, .net, etc.

Very much agree with you on that. Top level domains like .com .org .net are the best type of sites you want to attain links on to your website IF you are targeting a broader regional market.

"freelance web designer" is going to be much, much harder to rank for than "freelance web designer hyderabad." For the Hyderabad keyword, you're only competing with local businesses. For the more general keyword, you're competing with the whole world. Which is not to say it can't be done, but it may require different tactics than ranking for a relatively easy local keyword. My suggestion would be to see who has the number one spot in Google for "freelance web designer," then check out their backlinks and number of pages through Yahoo Site Explorer (or a backlinks analysis tool, if you have one). Chances are you will probably want to give up after you see the results, in which case you can focus on longer-tail type keywords. If you still want to go for it, look at where your competitors are getting links from and try to replicate them.

Also, submit some articles in dofollow article directories provided you get a dofollow link with this anchored keyword.

Right now, you have over 800 back links. Just get more back links to increase your ranking.
