A few quick ones - privacy, ad formatting etc.

    Hey all,

So I've read a few books recently (gotta say, I had some great results putting into work what I've learned about adsense), and one of those were "adsense secrets" from Mr. Joel Comm. While I do agree with most of his advices outlined within that book, one of them I just need verified.

    1. Using the same color for your ad title links and regular hyperlinks.

Mr.Comm recommends this practice, and so does one of the adsense top contributors over at the official forums. I do think that this is one of the best possible ways to integrate adsense into a web template, get the color schemes exactly the same and make borders go away, but I just want to hear if someone got into trouble because of this?

    2. Privacy policy is a must (been told by the same top contributor), and it has to mention the dart cookie technology.

So I've added a link to all of my pages, and here's the actual policy I use:

I wanted to make sure it explicitly mentions the dart cookie technology. I've found few different templates, but this one seemed like the most appropriate when changed a little.

Do you see anything important missing in here?

    Thanks,
    Alex

no, it's fine. It's true that privacy policy requirement has been enforced by adsense. For no border and link same as other links, it's ok.

Thanks for the reply, I got confused recently, I was reading this article:

    https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=136882

But later I've noticed that they mean "do not format it exactly like google ads", to replicate the whole thing. And when I've found this one:

    https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17957

    It says:

So that's when I've confirmed with the official forum top contributor and got a relief. I just wanted to make sure I don't do anything against the TOS unintentionally, you never know...

Few people had confirmed to me that you can use the same template on different websites, so I guess you'll agree too. It's better for adsense if the template is properly made, easier for webmasters to manage multiple sites, basically it's a win-win situation...

Where did you get that privacy policy template? I just have a paragraph saying I don't collect information. That and the standard blah that the CMS itself has when you sign up.

If you are serious about privacy policies, you should probably get one written professionally specifically to cover your needs.

I don't remember the actual website where I've found it, but you have it here too:

    http://www.jensense.com/2009/04/03/...ample-with-interest-based-targeting-included/

As far as I've understood, you have to mention the dart cookie and give people a link to opt-out if they want to. I found some others too but they didn't mentioned the technology in question. Take a minute and correct everything.

I don't need anything special or highly customized, I think that this one will do the job, it clearly says everything that needs to be said, but yeah, someone else might consider getting it done by a professional.
