Like I said before, this guy definitely used some loophole in Yahoo! which dosent work anymore. I am sure he is watching this thread, laughing and partying with everyones money.

 

He is just tricking Yahoo into thinking your commercial link is actually a Free one. Therefore Yahoo editors just approve it not realizing it is commercial.

It would seem from this thread that it doesn't work 100% of the time (I imagine because some editors may be more cautious then others and notice the trick)

I also think that some people might have lost their listing for the same reason.

I told yfs1 the way I think he was doing it. Until we get our sites listed its impossible to say whether it works or not.

One things for sure, if its made public knowledge Yahoo will close the loophole and remove everybodys sites that were submitted in this way. Bearing in mind people have paid $60 per listing I don't want to be responsible for loads of people having sites removed from the directory.

Although the fact the OP was only successfull part of the time and even then some were removed tends to lend itself to a backdoor, not an inside track.

If he was actually a Yahoo employee etc, he would easily have a 100% success rate and rake in the dough. I imagine the back door worked for his site so he figured he would make a few bucks from it selling the "service" to others, not realizing it doesn't seem to work all the time.

 

And what does it take now to know the trick? I guess you should let more people (like me ) experiment on this. You cannot decide with just 2-3 people you know

On another note I just found yet another way to submit to the directory for free without using any strange methods.

I would expect the Auto Insurance category to be a paid listing, but its not.

If you are in the UK it seems most of the highly commercial categories are free listings.

 

So is there any we can get the money back from this guy.

I didn't know he was doing anything. I just didn't like the idea of it and the placement was no better than my free submission as far as the receiving of traffic, so I ended up declining the payment and asking for the link to be removed.
BTW That was weeks ago.

the way he was doing it works fine. I have 8 listings and I did 2 more and they are there. The best part is its free.

 

so my 48 hours are up.

No listing, no refund and not answering my last 3 PMs despite 3 promises from him.

The guy is a scam. Red rep and neg itrader left.
