Hello all, I am targetting a two word keyphrase example "Super Mario" Say my site was called "The Super Mario" and I had exchanged links with 20 sites with link anchor text "The Super Mario", would that harm the links performance on seo because it doesnt just read "Super Mario" ? I have previously been told words like "the" are ignored by search engines so im hoping that someone linking to me under anchor text "The Super Mario" would just add to my sites weight for the keyphrase "Super Mario" ? Is there anyone who might know better than me who could give me some advice on this. Thanks for your help. Luke
hi moneyreward thanks for your reply. In what sense? I always thought (and maybe I'm wrong I am a bit newb) that targetting more specifically would help you relevance?
Only one keyword not look for search engines naturally, you can quickly received sandbox or other penalty for this keyword. Natural backlinks have in anchor many variations of this keyword, domain name, url. One time there are from content second from seperated places for outgoing links. I gived you only example, hope that you understand my point of view.
"the" will not make any difference. Google and other usually disregard stop words like a, and, the, and so on!
1. Worth buying links, not only to the main page, but also to internal ... 2. Anchor text links should not only be with the right keywords, but also other natural Akora as the site address, site name, dick, sieve ... we will make a huge difference around the link text ...
"The Super Mario" will also help you to rank for "Super Mario" if you build link also for "Super Mario". It is better to get links with a main keyword and with its variance ( adding some suffiz or prefix) to avoid any penalty from SE.
Its right. You might get penalized if you create backlinks for the same keyword. Instead it is better to build links for your keyword variations. Slowly if you get ranked for broad match keywords, then it will be helpful for your site in the long run.
If you are only targeting for the word "Super Mario" then it's not neccessary to use the word the. This gives different result in your ranking.
Exchange links is not the best way in SEO to get backlinks. Try to generate more one way back links and if your site is still new, try not to compete for high competitive keywords like "Super Mario". Instead, you can try to concentrate on lesser competitive keywords with more specific long tail keywordpharses which will increase conversion and reduce bounce rate.
I will suggest you to check keyword competition and then use it as anchor text in building backlinks because if we us keyword without doing keyword research & analysis then we can't dominate ranking over search engines and can't increase traffic like things.
