Hi Jessica, Yes i am a co-owner with 2 other partners. 1 in Peru and 1 in India. I have been using these guys for about 6 months now as i first found out about them when they did work on one of my sites around 8 months ago. People can say what they want about the techniques they do and don't use in their SEO work but in the end it all comes down to one simple fact: TIME! Everyone these days knows more or less how to optimize a site by tweeking the html, keyword density, Alt tags, using H1 for headings and so on....... You can pritty much learn how to optimize your site over night with all the tools available on the net today, but have you got the time? Link building takes up hours and hours of time. What Google loves more than anything these days is one way links to your site from content related websites with a good PR, but yes you guessed it: Q: how long would it take me to find suitable websites? A: ages, but its well worth the wait!
Yes, PR may not be the all important thing people think, but when you're trying to sell advertising on a site or promote your search optimisation the first thing people do is look at your PR - If it's low, then they'll diss you straight away.
Well the question is due to the fact Google has issues with most links and theres the whole relevancy factor thing. I think you could be shooting yourself in the foot perhaps, unaware that you are. I am under the thought the update is still on....I predicted it would end on the 10th 3 months ago As for relaxing, I could careless about PR lol.... I check $$$$... thats what matters to the bill people.... Peace Hey NetMidWest....toss in canonical URLs as well...as Google seems to have screwed this up too.
Just catching up with this and have scanned most pages of this thread - lots of people talking about PR but not many talking about rankings. Has anyone actually seen any change in rankings with this update yet? Ive seen PR changes going north which is good but little in the way of any changes to rankings. Is this just Google trying to keep us all calm before some pre-christmas big daddy type update? ps. Brian - congrats on the PR7
mine went from pr3 to pr4. Over the last few months I acquired other related sites and pointed them to my pr3 site. Looks like it worked. All of my sites have a lot of content.
Two of my sites, PR3 and PR4, just jumped to PR6. I have done no link building and the PR3 site has very few back links at all. I think there is a lot more to PR than just the number of backlinks.
I have on two of my sites. But than I come back and check again and it gives me the old PR. I use the google toolbar not someones website PR tool. It seems to be dancing alot on my sites.
My site is still dancing around also. Does anyone know when the update will be complete across all datacenters? Sorry if this was already mentioned.
afactory: >>>PR is really means nothing. I just got PR8 with no traffic from google at the same time. Do you mean that your site just when up to a PR8 and you are seeing no extra traffic from Google? If that is what you mean that is normal. The PR export is an export. The PR update is a rolling update that is ongoing all the time. Any changes in rankings during a PR export is due to everflux.
>>>PR is really means nothing. I just got PR8 with no traffic from google at the same time. I have PR7 websites too, with 30 uniques/day. It's not the PR that gets you rankings. It's how trusted your website is. The content is also important.
Couldn't agree more. Unique content can attract and convert normal visitors to return visitors, and this is all we wanted whether our site ranking #1 in some competive keywords or not
Hi all. Has anyone really seen any changes in their toolbars or is it just limited to the changes in DC's.
YES PR update in toolbar as well my new pages that got PR for first time show up regularly with the new PR
So what are you saying, that your content sucks? With a PR7 it means you can get indexed almost immediately. Why not add some content?
