For starters - I can't see any Google AdSense ads at all? That might explain a bit...

    Awful design...

Unclear what the point is about the website...

Work on those before expecting money to roll in...

What kind of ads do you think you're going to get from a blog about people being killed? News sites don't advertise. Funeral sites aren't going to be after the keyword 'killed'. You've got completely the wrong topic there to actually make money out of adsense.

sorry, how do they eek out a living then? No pun intended, I am really curious.

To be honest, I like to see where my visitors are from in google analytics , and fill out the map more than then getting a few of those clicks. Seriously, getting a visitor from somewhere like Madagascar or Moldova cheers me much more than a click from a US visitor. Neverthless, if there is traffic there are gotta be some money in it , and traffic there is. the blog is 2 weeks old and its number 400 000 by traffic in US already.

now thats weird-- there is adsense... I saw some weird chinese ads there, in Oregon and Tennessee, no idea how adesnse would pick those, but not putting any thats just plain weird

I meant I never see ads for major news portals on other websites. The news sites themselves are utterly covered in ads, which is what you thought I meant :)

If it has only been up 2 weeks, how does it have such a high ranking? You getting 10,000 visitors a day or something? I don't think that is an accurate number. I haven't got that low with any of my sites, even the one that has been up for years, and they churn through a couple of gigs a day and even at a few cents a click and 0.2 CTR one of them makes $200 odd a month. Alexa goes by 3 month averages too ...

I have a site ranked around 400k in the US too and it gets 3000 visitors a day ... and about $50 a month in Adsense at the most awfully low CTR known to mankind.

Maybe there is some hangover from another blog at the same url?

i dont think there is any hangover, and the rating went up to 300 876 in usa as of today, i guess alexa ratings arent accurate

    www.deadcount.blogspot.com

what is your WORLD rank there? May be its because most of the visitors arent from USA?

It went to 1.9m worldwide and 188000th in USA . How much traffic one is supposed to have to be at this step? I still get no more than 200-300 pageviews a day, is it normal

Is this an auto blog or do you fill it out manually? I don't see any AdSense on it. You may want to double check it.

No it is not just copypaste. And when I copypaste, I try not to go over 65 words which is allowed. In my last articles there are no copypaste whatsoever.

Ok, so by now projected alexa rating is 459,746 Rating in USA is 110.898 and in India 130 467. Weird that I had 5 times more visitors from Russia but there are no mentioning of it on alexa. CTR and profitability are still extremely low... I mean I know that people who are interested in bad news arent eager to buy stuff, but still..

One of my sites is at about 670k according to alexa, sitting at about 10,000 UV a day with slightly over half of that from the US. It makes anywhere from $3-30 a day with a really really low CTR. Alexa isn't exactly an accurate metric ... it also gives a top search string that I can't find on my site, which baffles me. Maybe it is one of the entries in my link directory or something. My traffic (and revenue) has shot up in the last two weeks and Alexa is registering a fall.

This one site subsidises the hosting of all my other sites, and I have no idea how to replicate its 'success' as I didn't actually do anything.
