Since you asked for the link to the admission of some one recieving money and not delivering the product, here it is. You can see that this is the only negative feedback I have received, after years of being a member of your forums.

You can see that Gamer316 says in his first reply...
"Guy (Lincolnave) pays (me)"
Then in his 3rd reply...
"You haven't gotten them (articles) because you gave me a neg...your neg that was really uncalled for cost me a $85 client. That(')s why I'm just going to have to sell the articles (to someone else)."


I got an infraction for pointing out his negative feedback (harassment), the least I could do.

I wouldn't have gotten an infraction if there was a rule against doing this type of thing.

 

I own an even more active forum marketplace than DP and I agree 100% with Shawn.

For those saying someone should start an escrow service...you're not thinking it through. People would just scam the escrow service. And let's say this person used Paypal then their account would likely get closed. A real professional escrow service is a viable option but it's also costly and cumbersome. Would you pay $50 in escrow fees for a $100 transaction?

Nothing is going to replace common sense and due diligence in deals.

Also DP is not an investigative body with law enforcment powers. At most they would ban the scammer which likely they would open a new account under a proxy and scam again. DP can't subpoeona records and screenshots can be faked.

It sucks to get scammed but don't place the blame on DP. It's not their fault nor is it their job to protect you. Protect yourself. I've been doing deals here for years and never had a problem. They key is not doing business with people that seem sketchy. I've turned down offers and deals when I get a bad feeling. I'd rather not make the money than lose it.

Seems like we are having two different conversation.

1. DP isn't responsible for people being scammed.
2. DP should have a rule banning people known to scam on DP.

I seem to be the only one that agrees with both statements.

The forum in your sig has a statement "No illegal activity or scammers will be tolerated. " All I'm asking for is for a rule like that here and have it enfored. I wish the forum owner of that forum would come on here and explain why they have that rule and how they enforce it when a scammer openly admits to their actions.

What I'm wondering is why shouldn't DP (or any forum) ban a user that admits to scamming on the forum?

Really, why would a forum owner would want a scammer around? Who wants a user that diminish the value of a website?

I totally understand that the forum owner shouldn't make the victim whole/pay for the scam. That is another matter.

Let me ask this, why did DP ban the sale of VCCs? Probably because too many people were getting scammed. Why did DP ban the sale of Accounts? Because they are against the TOS, for most websites. I know DP works hard to improve itself when possible and the internet as a whole. That is simply what I'm talking about, improving value of DP when possible.

If you simply disagree that "banning admitted/known scammers" is a good rule, I can accept that.

Why is there an iTrader Feedback system?

To try to help people see who is less than reliable in their dealings. If you choose to ignore the Feedback left by other members and still press ahead with the deal then that is your own lookout, imo.

• Negative: TOTAL SCAM. HE WILL LIE CONSTANTLY AND TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DELIVER NOTHING
• Negative Not Responding and Not Done The Work
• etc

 

i have read lots of complains like these here, even i did complain for a guy too.
i have seen mostly admin replies with indicating users responsibility ( it is obvious, lots of transactions done everyday here in dp that admin can't manage).

so here i have little suggestion.
whenever a new user joins, he should get some threads links indicating such frauds in their inbox.
but, i guess sending msg immediately on joining will not make DP trustworthy to the joining user, so the msg can be send after a month or two.
there are lots of rules in dp that people will not read or not understand at first until they get infraction
most people skip rules section here.

also i would like to admit, that there is a user with id 'blog' who bids on lots of website auction and then dont pay. he is already having 18 unpaid transaction status, but still he is active and killing auctions. i would simply like to raise a hand to ban him.

Is stealing OK? Why don't we get rid of all the rules? Let everyone fend for themselves.

I say we STOP banning anybody for doing anything wrong!

Does DP want to bread a "Culture of Scammers"? IF not ban them , if so let them continue.

You were not scammed as mentioned several times. We spoke on a Sat. you sent $5 I told you 24 hours or one business day. We are closed on Sundays. Monday I came online to find a neg itrader and complaints of not answering your emails which I did Monday when I was back in the office. You admitted to jumping the gun with the neg. Your negative cost me 3 clients one of which was an $85 dollar client. You would have still gotten your work but you then went to every thread for the last month and posted on it complaining you didn't get your work. I still had to report a post you made 2 days ago and its been a month. Thats why your getting infractions. Every time you make a post I get a pm with a client backing out and wanting a refund before the work is even due. Each one has been refunded. That is why your $5 or 5 articles haven't been delivered because youve cost me over $100 thus far by your constant complaining. Not to mention everytime somone comments in my threads you pm them and I know because several have told me you have been saying not to deal with me.

Only on DP can someone admit to taking money, NOT delivering the product and still be allowed to "Sell" his wares.

Should scammers be banned yes. But whos to say who a scammer is? You think I'm a scammer and I can say the same about you. You admitted to jumping the gun and giving me a bad rep before it was needed. So in return you cost me money so thats a form of scam you admitted to giving me a negative which ended up getting me out of money for deals that would have been fine. Not to mention everyone gets itraders they do or don't deserve. Did I deserve the neg you gave me no not when you gave it to me i surely didnt. And you admitted that. Then you went broke rules by hijacking every thread I had that was fresh. I just hit the report button and now your still complaining so I'm finally saying something.


Do I have negs yes I do. Do I deserve all of them no. But that doesn't make me a scammer. Of course when you leave a neg you want it to be the worse thing possible because your upset. So what gets used 95% of the time in negs? Bad business, Scam, Don't transact? It doesn't make someone a scammer I still have more pos then negs. Now if I had 1 post and 10 negs maybe it'd be a different story

Also you say anyone admitting to taking money should be banned right. then why arent you? You admitted to having jumped the gun taking money away from my deals because of it. So you admitted you took money from me when it wasnt deserved. So why arent you banned? It was a bad deal let it go, we both lost money, you $5 and me over $100.

Id ask a mod to close this thread. Because it has gotten off point from the op's problem. I can already see an infraction coming now because of "hijacking" but after hitting report a billion times and still listening to this guy complain I finally spoke up. Sorry to the op for using your thread.
