I'd advise you to start re-upping if you want to share the files. I wager that very few if any files will be recovered. No doubt FSn will keep true to their word and try their best, but little is usually accomplished when failures like this happen.

Check back over the last few days. The refunded sale is probably there. If you cannot find it, PM FSn-Support with the relevant info and I'm sure they'll take a look Monday.

 

You probably few files were deleted, so you can so to speak. I collaborate with filesonic from the outset and so files i have a lot more has been removed (I'd looked, how would you like to upload 1000 files (1-2 Tb) in an bad usebility file manager to operate with them). That's why I want to minimize their time costs incurred through no fault of mine. As I already said a lot of problems to them, as it turned out added one more - the lack of backup files.
P.s remember you defending jdownloader, and after sorting out the situation had changed their opinion?

Nope, I lost a good amount. Still, my advice wasn't based on someone losing 1 file or 1000 files. As you point out, FSn currently does not have a backup system. Your file is stored on a single server and when that server goes down, so do the files on that server. As files were DELETED, I wager very few will be recovered despite FSn's best efforts and intentions. I understand if you would like to wait, I just wouldn't get my hopes up.

Are you asking if I have changed my opinion on FileSonic banning JDownloader? No, although I agreed FSn should not be pushing JD on the News Page, I wouldn't prohibit its use. Sure, we as affiliates lose some sales to JD, but the fact that JD exists helps generate other sales. Not everyone enjoys IDM and to preclude JD users from FileSonic would discourage such users from premium membership. What would be nice would be a situation in which FSn could credit JD as they would a website owner and still credit the link owner for the sale.

Besides, if I recall correctly, you were lumping JDownloader in with myDownloader when you called for the ban. JDownloader is not a cheating app as is myDownloader. myDownloader intentionally steals sales from both affiliates and FileSonic. Any sales JDownloader generates are passive.

FilesSonic, have you ever considered implementing rewards system based solely on points that could be transformed to currency of user's choice? I am quite concerned of current USD "progress". When I started making bucks with SM in June, 1 USD was almost 21 CZK (Czech Crown), today PayPal exchange rate is 1USD = 17.08 CZK. This is significant change and I am loosing money. I understand that not only me. Your system is based on USD which is now, politely said, very unstable. For the same ammount of work both you and affiliates receive less and less money. I know that this hits the fundaments of the site itself, but I think you should consider it. You are loosing money, affiliates are loosing money, only customers are happy (Well, OK, they should be, at the first place).

What about adding option to pay/get paid in EUR? Do you have financial analysts that are observing the trends? Thank you in advance.

 

Now that is a very good point.
I am involved with various things, most of which work in us dollars, and over the last year or so I've seen my earnings really go down (as the dollar has) in value. Personally I'd like to work in uk pounds, but I'm realistic lol - euro would be ok I guess.
I'm guessing this ain't gonna happen any time soon (FS has other fish to fry), and I'm not sure how or if it would really work in practice anyway. It would sure be complicated and probably open to some amount of abuse to a point to allow payment in various currencies.
Do any other file hosts do this ?
Is the Euro more stable ? If so, for how long ?
