I have just created a site map using xmap from joomla here at : http://www.submissionfc.com/index.php?option=com_xmap&sitemap=1

Now I am very new to sitemaps and don't know much about them. But I thought i'd do it any ways, so now what do I do with my site map? How do i submit this to google and other search engines, and how often needed? Any other info i might need to no?

You need to create an .xml sitemap and place it in your home directory (eg. submissionfc[dot]com/sitemap[dot]xml). Then open a google webmaster tools account if you don't have one already and under 'Site Configuration', go to 'Sitemaps' and then click 'Submit a Sitemap'. For Yahoo you would use Site Explorer and for Bing you would use Webmaster Center.

You don't need to resubmit unless they are not downloading your updated sitemaps. You can if you want but I rarely do.

Submitting your sitemap doesn't guarantee all or any of your pages will get indexed. It just helps the search engines find your pages. It does take time to index them as well. Check yahoo site explorer, you have quite a few pages indexed there.

It varies greatly. No clear cut answer :( Be sure your XML sitemap contains no duplicate URLs etc.

Add you joomla created sitemap in your website which will help users to find what you website contain for google bot you need to create a sitemap.xml file. You can create with google sitemap generator tool. Upload sitemap.xml to your site and then go to webmaster tools and add sitemap.xml. thanks..

Feeds submitted as sitemaps in GWMT will always display errors. It's a bug in GWMT AFAIK.

It doesn't mean Googlebot is having trouble with your submitted sitemap / feed (so long as it's a valid feed)

    Don't worry about them.

It doesn't affect Google crawling or indexing your site.

Ensure your sitemap.xml is submitted in public folder at this location: www.domainname.com/sitemap.xml
