Hi all, I'm not sure if I'm posting my question on the right forum but guess I'll find out soon enough Here's my frustrating problem - I am making a website for a freind of mine and all was well until today I noticed something strange happen when I browse to the site. When the site is loading - down in the bottom left hand bar of my browser, instead of the usual message connecting to ...website.com.etc I get messages saying --->waiting for data from ntp.sysip.net ....>transferring data from ntp.sysip.net or dns.sysip.net<---- etc. I am sure this hasn't occurred before and it is making my friends website load much more slowly. I have tried googling the sysip address but am getting no answers. Could anyone here possibly enlighten me as to what is causing it and how I could fix it please ? It would be very much appreciated as I find it disquieteningly irritating. I have posted this question on another forum before I realised how inactive it was ...so hopefully better luck here - Eskarina
Grrr I can't put up a link yet. From annoyances.org "It seems it hijacks the housecall.trendmicro.com address on some dns servers and installs itself instead of trendmicro's free spyware scanner:" See if Adware or Spybot catches it.
Thanks for your input Karenr I did a search on the website you mentioned but didn't get a result but then ran my spyware etc. and did clean up my pc but the website was just the same. However, after thinking down the lines of spyware etc I thought I'd manually clean the cache and cookies and it appears to have solved the problem. I was thinking the problem must be some sort of website hijacker or hack but you made me think about the problem possibly residing on my pc. So you effectively fixed it for me Many many thanks
