Was just wondering what people thought of Open Cart?
Thinking of using it instead of oscommerce.

I think OpenCart is great, I am running a site using OpenCart @ www.hobbykit.co.za
I find it so easy to mod as the code and framework are well thought out and easy to modify.

Thanks Pixelrage. Yeah, it's all PHP and CSS coding. OpenCart is PHP/CSS based and the templates are XHTML/CSS. I did use some Ajax/Javascript for the banner and cart functions.

Great! I was looking into Opencart because all of the others are written in programming languages I have no familiarity with. This one looks like the top choice so far. I'm still going to be hard pressed to not choose Wordpress, but I'm afraid of the lack of options being an issue in the future.

I believe it is a pretty good ecommerce, for beginners anyway. It's easy to set up and there's so many updates that get released, unlike OSC

I only use opencart for my clients now (used to use cs-cart) - it is very good and getting better, and the support forum is very friendly and helpful (and VERY active !)
Give it a try - it's free so there's nothing to loose, and a whole lot to gain ;)

I think OpenCart is brilliant. It's like a simplified version of Magento in the making. It's robust and really easy to customise :)

That's funny lol - I would say magento is a simplified version of opencart in some ways - particularly the free magento.

I have to agree that opencart is what I would use. Used to use magento (free version) but i've made the transition and haven't looked back.

In certain area's OpenCart is superior. The admin panel of opencart is however more simplified, unlike Magento it's in plain english and doesn't involve hours of teaching clients how to use it :D

If whats on the RoadMap ever gets completed it'll be leaps ahead of the free version of Magento.

But is it true that Opencart does not support unlimited categories and has serious stability problems on large catalogues?
