i have site niche financial

i dont do any SEO, but in 1 month web is PR 2

whats going on with google

Guys when was the last PR update? I don't remember seeing one for the last 6 months.

 

pr still important to identify how much site is relevant and most valuable.

 

i hope in next week the pr update is ok

There has been too long(6 months) that major PR update did not occur.I hope it should occur in End of October or Mid November.

This time, I can tell , really, no one knows but Google when the PR will update next time IF there is a next update ...

From now on, I will not consider the PR of the website I'm linking to, I'll just take a look at the quality (design , quality of content, uniqueness etc ) ..

 

I have to disagree with you as far as it regards PageRank as a measurement of a "quality" site or not. The main reason is because pagerank was being manipulated more and more, in other words, the measurement of a quality you were using was boggus or rather, you were being tricked from something that wasn't working properly.

What the "remove" of public PR distribution can mean for you is one thing "more work" which will lead you to better understand search engine optimization and quality of a site.

Few points you can start from:
1). Check the current backlinks that the site has through Yahoo (even if it has 1k of backlinks, quickly go through them, because if you are checking what is supposed to be a "car" related site and has backlinks from "psychology" resources....rest assured you are being fooled/tricked)
2). Check if the site is ranking for the first keywords in their title (usually check 3 word long ones, if the site is ranking for its own keywords then be sure that one is a quality site).
3). Check the number of the indexed pages the site has. If it is a site with more indexed pages it indicates that the site is been for a while now and it is not a site build from a webmaster just to spam the hell out the net and make "few" bucks.

Yeah I know it takes more time then just looking at the PageRank and think "oh this one is a good site", but you will be actually getting much better backlinks since you will be carefully choosing your link partners (oh and, most likely you will not be scammed from an dropped "psychology" site that is being recycled as a "cars" site).

was wondering how this worked and when i could see pr1.

i have empty domains that are a couple years old sitting at pr3!!!

 

Ya traffic matter a lot other then

 

Even i face the similar problem i got 2 pr since last year no update till now.
