Build content related to the domain name or park the domain name with godaddy or some other service.

If they are good keyword .com domain, try to park them at SEDO, NameDrive or parked to get some parking revenue.
If you are not going to use them, try to sell them here at DP.If you are into developing you can develop them.
PM me if you want any further suggestion.

I think it is better to build just couple holding pages. It will keep your pagerank.

    Why are the suddenly useless?
I would definitely not take down any content, but to help more we need to know why you think they are useless.
It might be better to let them go or transfer them to a friend if there are specific issues with the domains reputation.

    you can:
    Park them

    sell them
It's up to you which one to choose ;)

I'd suggest you to post some rich keyword content on it.
But, if you want an in depth explanation to know more about what content to put, list your domain names... :)

Is it not possible to park a domain on one site and have it for sale on another?

Yeah, it's possible. You can park your domain at Namedrive, parked, bodis or somewhere else and list it for sale at SEDO or afternic.

build content with related niche..and you must renew the domain itself or someone else might try to snatch it up from you....
