PR is almost done, what can we expect now?

I have briefly seen the PR results that are expected and should be finalized in the next couple of days.

What I would like to know is....what can we expect after this?

Will Google update all the SERPS to reflect the new PR?

It's generally accepted that actual PR is constantly updated. Toolbar PR is just a static value they update every few months.

Nope. Google constantly updates PageRank, but only updates what is visible to us (ie, via the ToolBar) every three or four months (sometimes longer.)

Sadly, this means that any uptick you see in your PageRank has already been factored into the SERPS.

    Don't hold your breath ;)

If you watch your site every couple of days leading up to a final update they will show you what it will be when it is final.

I think it is coming from different data centers. Not sure exactly but My site went from a PR 6 to a PR 7 and all interior pages are now PR 6.

I am hoping this will really improve the SERPS as Google has really punished my site in the month of September.

This afternoon I saw the new PR on my toolbar, now when I look the PR has reverted back to pre update. It's more than likely that it;'s just going through the update and it'll settle down soon.

I disagree to this. Our company purchased 5 PR 7 in 2004 and on the first PR update for the site we were given a PR 6 index page.

We carefully optimized the index page with a nice 5% keyword ratio. Site was released from the google sandbox 14 months after the launch and positioned exactly where we thought it would be.

    for our major keyword search:

Top SERP site position is a PR 7
2nd SERP site postion is a PR 7

our position right now is postion 3 and we are a PR 6.

    Sites 4 to 10 are PR 5.

So, when someone says PR doesn't matter I shake my head

Based on my comparison and competitor analysis, Google consider PRs when ranking sites on the SERPs, but this is just one of the many factors. You also need to consider the basics of onpage optimization.
