Does Google Instant Search mean a death sentence for the long tail KW?

I believe you've all noticed the new Instant Search feature. Will suggested search queries in real time lead to an increase in search conformity, sameness in query input and effectively suffocate the long tail (esoteric perhaps) sub-niches?
Can this actually be the end of SEO?

    I don't think so.
But like other new features related to LSI spirit, it's worth to try and actually give me more apportunity in offering my SEO services.

I suppose we'll have to give it time and adjust accordingly, whatever the case may be.

It's definitely no the end of SEO, SEO isn't just about optimizing for long tail KW, you can optimize for short key phrases also.

Before Google instant, we target a lot of long tail keyphrases as part of our SEO strategy. But now that it is there, we have no choice but to adapt.

We plan to focus on popular two-word or three-word keyphrases more in order to gain organic traffic even though it's very difficult.

Or you can still go after long tail KW but instead of aiming for google, go for yahoo/bing

Yeah, well there's no arguing about there being other search engines besides the big G, but it is the dominant player out there and any change to it sends out respectively wide-scale ripples throughout the industry...

It would be interesting to see some numbers how many users got it enabled and how many disabled (google instant)

I'm pretty sure they won't give out anything concrete :) However their reply will be something like: more users got it turned on then turned off...
