hey DP'ers! if I can ask you a question whose answer has eluded me..... (This question is not about keyword searches, but instead specifically about keyword "PHRASES"....(hope that helps!)) when it comes to keyword "phrases" searches on google, I've always assumed "quotes" around the phrase were necessary to get exacting results...? Because it never seems to be mentioned when reading articles about conducting keyword "phrases" This is borne from what seems obvious to me in that if you don't use "quotes", your SERPs are not all based on the exact "phrase" this can easily be observed on any search in google (whenever I read anything on this point, writers never seem to mention the inclusion of "quotes" around a search phrase? which is one of the reasons I've always been confused about this point) AMF~!
You would think so but what exact match really means is that exact keyword was typed into the query box. No need for quotes but if you do include with quotes, both are still counted as "exact match" keywords/phrases. Here's an article that explains it a little more: http://clickbump.com/keyword-research-why-i-never-use-broad-match/
well i wouldnt include "searchs" with quotes with anything to do with SEO if thats what your asking . simply because when you runa "shshs" search on google it looks for an exact match - so if you'll be looking for something like "auto mobils driving through school yesterday night and there was a spaceship that was flying above it" google will then look for website that has that exact text not something related to it. now doing same thing with short keywords will also work but it will work like normal search almost. also the quotes are usually used for long sentences.
In normal Search Google Excludes commonly used words such as "to" "as" "a" etc. When we put in quotes, google searches for the exact phrase.
thanks jack, andrew and ofer and cullen, I appreciate it! I thought so and you guys have confirmed maybe
