Need simple shopping cart software.

    Hello guys,

I need a simple shopping cart software, preferably free. I'd like it to have a similiar feature set to Mal's E commerce free version. I need it to be hosted on my own server, and preferably coded in PHP.

OScommerce is too complicated for what I'm looking for. I just want it to capture and save the customer details, including payment info.

Hopefully, I could use simple url links or buttons for customers to add products to the cart with.

    Any suggestions?

A download site? Or hard goods to be shipped?

I have the former that I can sell.

Get Oscommerce and just use the features that you need. I think it is the best ecommerce script you can find.

Now, if you just need a script to be integrated in your already existing website, I would suggest that you code itself yourself or hire a freelance programmer. It isn't a hard job.

It sounds like we're looking for the same thing:

A cart that you can just paste a buy now link onto your product page and go.

I haven't found a free cart yet that has that...they are all the kind where you have to create the products and then the software genereates your site, too....Not what I want.

I took a look at the demo. That does look interesting. I wonder how hard it would be to use PayPal as the gateway?

If I find a few spare hours I might see if I can set that up some where.

If you just want to paste a buy now link next to your products why not just use Paypal's shopping cart?

Have you checked out the PayPal cart? I used one somewhere the other day that allowed mutiple items to be added before checking out.

I don't think it is an option unless use are business/premier member.

I think I will log in and look at it right now.

Okay I did. Click on the merchant services tab and about halfway down the page on the right hand side there is a link to the shopping cart information. It would be a PITA to set up because you have to create a button for each item and use the HTML they give you on your pages. The is a visual presentation you can view.

To read the entire guide just go to PayPal.

It would be secure once you set it up. Not to bad unless your items change a lot.

The Paypal shopping cart supports multiple products.

It doesn't meet my needs, though, as I just want to capture credit card numbers, not do Paypal.
