Now you want to go on a rant because you look stupid. Insult? Insult who? I haven't taken anything back I said. Your're just another one of those guys who goes nuts and says stuff that makes no sense when you've got nothing else better to say. Fact is you said something not knowing that facts and the fault is yours.

Want some cheese with that whine? I knew exactly what I said. I knew exactly what you said. Do you? Did I say you had insulted anyone? Try Googling "metaphor", you may learn something. You're just pulling a Lady MacBeth because someone would dare to question your sincerity.

Ok - had some probs with my isp so been away for about 10 days. Now I'm back and I tried to download a 2 part file - part 1 downloaded kinda of ok (had to 'cancel' a non existant download, but never the less...). Now I come to download part 2 and the following happens ...
I click for free download - system says I have a download in progress (no I don't) so I click to cancel it (on the filesonic page) - capcha appears so I fill it in and click go - capcha counts down 30 secs then re-loads - I fill in capcha again and click go - capcha counts down either 30 secs or 10 mins (seems to be random) - finally the download link appears so I click it - error message appears as follows ...
Now - given that part 1 downloaded fine I just don't buy it, and how will a premium account help if my isp where blocking it ? (which I seriously doubt). I can't believe this stuff it still going on - it's just crazy. (for info I'm using firefox - no download manager - no cookie problems).
Well I think enough is enough now - time to move on. I might drop in here from time to time just to see if things ever improve, but as of now I'm not even going to try to download filesonic links any more as it's a wast of time, and a real wind-up.

One other thing - a few pages back there was a guy complaining that he sold 2 premium and had to refund 3 premium - no one commented on it and it seemed to slip into oblivion. Since nothing was said I would like to know how this could happen legitimately ? I mean - does this seem a little 'odd' to anyone else or is it just me ? (and the op).

Am I right in thinking that fileserve don't offer 'pay per sale' ? If so then it's a shame as they look good.
I don't want to use oron as I just don't like their set-up (working or otherwise).
Hitfile / turbobit et al are right out - wouldn't touch them with a rubber coated barge pole.
Any suggestions for a host that really works, offers pay per sale and doesn't have that stupid 'gold/silver/bronze level' system ?

Thanks ;) (braces for the usual onslought lol)

I do not recall seeing an official FSn response. If I remember correctly though, that was only one day's results. There was no indication of sales made previously from that file, so the three refunds does not necessarily exceed the number of total sales for the file. Still, the amount of activity described on one file was odd.

No there wan't an official response (or any comment at all), but I do take your point on stats.

I just talked to my isp and not only are they NOT blocking filesonic, they had not even heard of them lol. They said (and I quote) 'do you mean fileserve ?' I said no - I mean filesonic - they reply 'we don't know that one, but we are not blocking it' - I ask 'are you blocking fileserve then ?' - answer 'no we're not blocking that either' Ok I said, what should I do ? - their answer 'contact the file host as it's their problem - there's nothing we can do'

Your ISP is not blocking FileSonic. Go back in this thread and you'll see that it's related to the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation) forcing certain connections to certain servers to go through a transparent proxy. If you do a traceroute to filesonic.com, you will see the IWF layer you go through every time. UK ISP forums are full of people having this problem, with us and other file hosts. Believe me, we don't need to trick a handful of UK users into buying a premium account. The UK market is doing great for us as it is.

Well, I have no reason to make anything up but it is obvious that is all you can say since you have nothing else to say. Now you're a poet? WOW!! I hope you get better at it soon.

Remote upload doesn't have any issues. Don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, about payout. I was forwarded to Hish and i understand that he is handling the payouts. But i have no answer from him on email, ICQ or Skype... and the money are still in my FS account. No idea who else can handle that.

I can't seem to get filesonic files to download properly with download managers. All I end up with is messages like "html- not allowed" even though I have a premium account. The only thing I seem able to do is to log into Filesonic itself and download each file through my browser, which is Firefox. Of course, this doesn't support restart or incomplete downloads, etc so I can't take advantage of the premium account. I've tried FDM, IDM, and Orbit but the files won't download with any of these. I've tried logging into filesonic first, enabling cookies and then cookies in the download manager but to no avail. I've tried emailing Filesonic support, but no response after several tries. Does anyone have a solution or knows of a download manager that will work properly with filesonic files? thanks in advance

Thanks for reading my message; there is at least one guy who noticed it. The situation is now even worse: that particular file gave me 2 premium sales and 4 refunds; another refund was registered yesterday for that file. I don't know how this is possible: if you buy something, you cannot bring it back 2 times in order to be repaid 2 times.
It's now under investigation by filesonic support 3.

Yes, the number of refunds exceeds the number of sales for that file. That particular file was uploaded at the end of September, and therefore it was easy to count the number of sales and the number of refunds for that file: 2 sales and 4 refunds.

Please try to latest version of JDownloader. Some people are also reporting success with the latest, paid version of IDM.

I did the traceroute with the following result ...
Can't see any problem there but if you can then please do say ;) (perhaps it's not obvious ?)

gi1-9-321.pcl-gw01.plus.net is most likely one of plus.net's transparent proxies. I'm not familiar with their host names, but it looks like it. Notice how the IP address is a in a completely different range than the others. If you contact your ISP, they'll be able to tell you.

The UK issue is a well-known issues. If you browse this thread, you will see that plus.net isn't the only ISP doing this. Finally, you would not be encountering these issues with a premium account, since we use criteria other than your IP address (which changes through proxy) to authenticate you.

    No not really...
We delete files that haven't been downloaded or the 30 day period, each time it gets downloaded the limit resets and another 30 days countdown begins... its a good balanced and fair way to limit the storage, of course premium members should have the benefit of keeping their files, its another advantage of being premium :)

    Regards,

    Rome
