Situation: you're webmaster and you post links at your site, someone wants to download the file through your link and buying premium membership, of course you're getting 60% of sale, then in some time he/she decided to prolong premium account and clicks the button "Renew Your Account" directly from account (not through your link), as result filesonic is taking all fees, in this way they will not share any money. It is a Re-bill and filesonic doesn't want to pay for it. Who brings new customer? Of course YOU (Webmaster)!!! but you'll not get any money else. Filesonic wants more and more new customers, but then all re-bills they will put in their pocket, maybe for future Promos )))

It doesnt fair when you just wanna put money in your pocket only hihihi. So have you ever thouht where did FileSonic get the money to run their service? if people's account expire, when they click the download link, FileSonic will ask them to buy premium again, so why do you worry about cant get any further money in your pocket?

I agree with Dream*Walker. They must give first priority to downloaders. If the downloads are smooth, then the probability of extending premium memberships will be more. Whats the use, if one buy one month premium membership and decides that, he should never buy once again because of their poor downloading options.

Most of the Big time downloaders use download managers, most of the premium members will be of that kind. Very very few people opt for a premium membership just to download very few files, unless they are very rare and its very difficult to download them as a free user. Once done, they dont extend their account until they encounter few more rare files.

I am a premium user at filesonic, but to get the links into download managers is very annoying. As Dream*Walker said, its very very smooth with RS, just right click on the link and select download with IDM. You download one one KB everyday, u can resume them even after months if the file is up. But with Filesonic, u have to download at oneshot. Restart computer and u have to download the file from the beginning again.

Well, I had said a few days ago that I was going to quit filesonic because of the downloading issues that a lot of people do not know how to get around. I still feel the same way but because of the premium sales that have came in I would feel bad to delete my files when people join based on what you upload so now I have created an Oron account with mirror links to all of my filesonic posts. Fortunately its free to sign up and be an affiliate and you can keep all of your files as long as they have been downloaded in the last 30 days. So far the sales are equal. I really like the price setup. You get a little more than filesonic for 30 day memberships. The longer ones pay less but because of their cheaper prices you are more likely to get 3 and 6 month premium sales which should make more money anyway. Plus they pay for rebills and most people do not cancel rebills or either forget to do so which is great. I think also that with the reputation filesonic is starting to get with the download problems people are going to be less likely to buy a premium membership. The only knock on Oron is the 12000mb download limit per 3 days and the minimum payout of $30 (for some people) but to be honest I hardly ever download that much from one filehost over 3 days anyway.

Guys,JDownloader work great with Filesonic Premium, download speed is comparable with rapidshare...5 times faster than hotfile,no problem to resume files.
Hint:With JDownloader opened, use Firefox, select link(s),right click then push "Copy link location"...links will be automatically added and checked in LinkGrabber.
    For me work flawless.

    HOTFILE
In principle, we host data without a time limit. But files that have not been accessed for 90 days are deleted to relieve the system of forgotten and not needed content. This rule does not apply to Premium members.

    FILESERVE
As a Premium Account holder we will store your files forever. They will never be deleted even when they haven't been accessed for a long period of time. If you are a free registered member, we will keep the files on our server for up to 60 days after the last download.

    ORON
If you are a premium user your files are kept infinitely. If you are not a premium user however, your files may be deleted to avoid build up of not needed information but no sooner that after 30 days have passes since last download.

    MEGAUPLOAD
Your files will be stored forever as long as you are a premium member. If you are a registered user without premium status, your files will be stored until at least 90 days after their last download.

    FILESONIC
If at the time of the deletion script you're a free user, then you will lose older files (30 days AFTER THE UPLOAD). But the script doesn't run instantaneously. You usually have a couple of days of grace before you lose the files. A longer-term premium membership should do the trick, though. :)

"Be ready to make a lot of money with us, we want to be your #1 file host and we will do whatever it takes to get there."

For those who make such bold statements you need to review some concepts, starting with the basics. I wonder what will happen to Filesonic's name when all the forums, blogs and websites are flooded with broken links on "fresh" threads/posts.

BTW... You should add this rule to the FAQ. I'm sure many would like to receive this "brilliant" piece of information before creating an account.

    Just my 2 cents...

    Best Regards

I never had premium membership with 0ron, and as a uploader 0ron is drastic to me, worser than any other host that i tried. Few thousands of downloads but not even 1$. But as a free user to download files, its very good. I get 1/3 or my full download speeds. Its good for downloaders, but i dont know how uploaders are finding it good, coz i didn't work for me.

Sometimes i feel that, they have their own uploading/sharing team. They are much into fetishes or pron (even filesonic too). But i do appreciate and recommend that host for a free user.

I don't have a premium membership either. I only created the account for a backup because of the filesonic problems. So far the sales are even for both but I have yet to pay a dime myself for Oron but yet have made money already. I split my files in usually 2-4 parts so that some can be downloaded but eventually the inconvenience for some will eventually take over. I'm not sure what you mean by "drastic". If you had 1000 downloads and no sales its probably because all of your downloads are one-click. The Oron interface is actually easier. The filesonic file manager is very glitchy when you try to sort your files/folders. Not with Oron, it's a much easier interface. Also their support email actually answers questions which is more than what I can say for filesonic.

Your right it does work. Problem is that not everyone wants to or is that technical about trying to download something and because of that I feel that some people will not renew their membership with those kinds of problems.

I saw that there are problems with the download manager, I gave only a technical solution.

So what you're asking for is money for renewals. I'd prefer they spend their money on upgrading their hardware and software.

How about FileSonic pays us a flat $50 per sale? Yeah, I know, it's a exaggeration, it but makes the point that wishing something does not make it feasible, doesn't it?

Would I object to FileSonic doing re-bills and compensating us for them? Hell no! Still let's face economic facts here. Some of the resistance seems to be due to the fact that some perceive FSn to be "pocketing" any money from re-bills. First, since FSn does not actively pursue re-bills, I would wager that actual renewals without prompting are miniscule. Instead, most downloaders are renewing when they click on a link and realize their status has expired. Thus, FileSonic is still paying an affiliate somewhere for that renewal, unfortunately, it just might not be you.

Second, let's remember that FileSonic is running a business. As such, they have allotted a certain percentage of their gross to paying affiliate earnings. While re-bill payments would be nice, FileSonic is just going to dip somewhere else in that percentage to pay for such a program. So what will end up happening is you'll pick your right pocket to put some money in your left pocket. Before you get too carried away arguing for "new payments" from FileSonic, just keep in mind that such changes will inevitably effect your "old payments" and not all change is good. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
