No, the new module does not prevent premium users from downloading as premium. Our premium signups and premium downloads are higher than ever (and our refunds are very low). Almost every single 'download problem' we saw was traced to the user's ISP, with some users using download managers that don't support us. There is one outstanding problem I'm aware of, and it affects a very tiny portion of users (I've gotten 1 or 2 other complaints to date and we will resolve them). Don't forget that for every 1 or 2 complaints you see here, there are tens of thousands of users who are downloading just fine. Let's not over-dramatize the situation.

We don't oppose the creation of downloaders/plugins. In fact, we've contacted JDownloader and helped them adapt their downloader to our site. We've contacted IDM but they haven't responded. Our site's basic functionality is Web Download and we're not in the business of coding downloaders. In fact, the vast majority of file sharing users don't user downloaders. A lot of people on DP do, but those represent the more tech-savy segment of the file sharing market. This is why most file sharing sites don't have custom downloaders. If we code one in the future, it would be a bonus.

Finally, I don't know why that customer refunded his membership but, before trasing us publicly, can you guarantee me that he wasn't one of those sneaky customers who buy a membership to download a couple of files and then ask for a refund? I've certainly seen many of those.

I see a bit of queue with moving files to File Manager, but can't see anything specific otherwise. I'll keep investigating and let you know.

They don't want to pay us for re-bills at all, try to search some pages back, and look for FileSonic-IT words. They want to be so convenient for webmasters and don't want to pay for rebills, because they are "A world best sharing site with highest rates for all".
That's not a joke, you won't get any re-bill, forget about it, and if you want to build some community at your site and then earn money on re-bills, I think, your best way to leave sonic and find appropriate filehost.

im not dramitizing im just giving you feedback on my downloaders and im telling you its not a tiny portion of user complains because your not the one receiving them.

"In fact, the vast majority of file sharing users don't user downloaders" how sure are you with this and you claim that they are using programs to cheat so they are not dumb users. and you call those people who are using downloaders as "more tech-savy segment".

i was dissapointed that filesonic basic functionality is web download, do you think users with 50 links of a blue ray rip have the time to use web download.

most file sharing sites dont have custom downloaders bec they dont need it, im saying that fiesonic needs it. in fact im using the same IDM version for >1 year with RS/HF and i dont encounter any problem.

how to guarantee that the customer who refunded is not sneaky customer.do you think i know those people downloading my files, lastly i though this thread is about announcement and feedback but its not.

You won't get paid for rebills because filesonic doesn't rebill it's customers. They can't pay us for something they don't do. Rebills don't have anything to do with having the highest rates. They're totally separate. If you disagree with their policies then I'm sure they won't care if you leave. Alexa.com will show you their traffic is steadily increasing thus they must be doing something right.

I'd have to agree with Dream*Walker when it comes to folk using download managers. Not only is the percentage significantly higher than FileSonic assumes due to the increased file sizes of today, but that number is only going to increase. Additionally, those who share those larger files, like Dream*Walker and me, are particularly impacted even though I would guess these types of share generate more sales income for both FileSonic and its affiliates than 5mb shares.

While the timing probably isn't right for FileSonic to introduce its own downloader as I'm sure work is still being done to shore up the network itself, it would me a great addition in the future. It is true the majority of "filehosts" do not offer a downloader, but the majority of the dominant filehosts do, e.g. RS, DF, MU & FF.

As to Dream*Walker's experience with IDM, I don't dispute his report, but I would suggest he was probably lucky. Granted I use JDownloader, but I have experienced downtime on various filehosts (including HF & RS) while waiting for updates. Such interruptions are usually short lived (a day or two) but they do occur.

Great point, although I admit I thought FileSonic was doing re-bills until the subject was brought up a week or two ago. As to the "community being built" to which others refer, the odds are good that you will receive that "re-bill" regardless as a member of your "community" renews his membership while visiting one of your links. It's not a lock but it is definitely stacked in your favor if you truly do have a loyal following which frequently returns for your shares.

Once a DMCA report is filed, FileSonic has little choice but to delete the file. To launch an investigation into the validity of all such claims would make no sense in regards to the best use of FSn's time and resources.

Your best bet would be to re-up the file.

Although, HitFile shows poor form to post like this in a FileSonic thread, I'm not sure I would deem them a scam. Reading between the lines, they appear to be an offshoot of TurboBit. They are "banned" on many forums as they are classified as a "cash link", meaning there is no free download option. This does not mean they are a scam. Even so, I've seen the ads and have tried to click through to learn more the past week or so and their site is offline more than it is online. Their start up is probably not going well so they have free time to spam their competitors.

If I said that speedywh is a file host? :) I just found out that filesonic has the same design with them.
If you don't work with us, it doesn't mean that others don't get money ;)

Please add your feedback to our main thread here on DP.
Filesonic is not our competitor, we have the various business models.
We are really good friens with filesonic (sharingmatrix)! ;)

    here's my IDM version 5.15 build 2

    What's new in version 5.15 build 2?

    (Released: Nov 24, 2008)
Added workarounds for the sites where IDM had download problems
Resolved several issues related to taking over downloads on Windows Vista
Fixed bugs with "Download with IDM" menu on Firefox 3.x
Version 5.15 build 2 includes all latest bug fixes

how many terabytes i have downloaded from RS and HF using this version and until now its still working smoothly with the two host. i dont download from any other host i try to look which is hosted in RS/HF so there is no such thing as "post unique files so that you can attract sales"

Of course your business models are different, I indicated the fact myself. Regardless, if you don't think you're fishing in the same pond for affiliates, you're in for a rude awakening as time progresses.

I'm supposed to be impressed and deny that you've been lucky, right?

You're maybe right... But I don't think Filesonic support write on your official threat stupid things like you... This just show users how immature hitfile.net is... That's actually the first impression we have when we visit your website... and your sister site Turbobit.net ...
