Its believed that Yahoo! first introduced a stand-alone search advertising buy. Yahoo!'s seeking more effective, targeted advertising within Yahoo!'s search results. Yahoo! obliged placing targeted ad banners when the keyword "Golf" was searched by Yahoo! users. Yahoo! later turned this opportunity into a formal marketing program for its entire customer base...

    Hi butterfly33

If you we are talking about ppc advertising you might consider Facebook as well. Some would say there are too much spam ads lately, but we've seen good results from FB. The single biggest advantage of their system is that it allows you to drill down your niche, targeting advertisements. Another new search engine is oneriot.com who specifically aim to be a realtime search engine, like Google Instant. But we haven't tried advertising there yet.

99% of all traffic going trought major search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) ...
All other fit together in the 1-2% ...

I think that you are advertising on other search engines simply not worth it ...

Nothing else is required, if you really want to invest money and get result for the same, Google is the best. Nothing else will give you the results.
