    Hello,
just wondering what a site like yardmaps.org would go for?

It is a yard sale / google maps mashup that I created that lets people post their yard sales for free, upload images, tweet their sale automatically (each city has its own twitter account), generate a PDF poster, allow visitors to add sales to favourites and then get directions based on those favourites, and a bunch more features I'm still working on.

Currently it is live in a few cities including Vancouver (vancouver.yardmaps.org)

Just wondering what a site like this would potentially sell for.

    Thanks

nice site,.but seems hard to be marketed.
are you developing it by your self? is this script unique and with cms? also how do you create the twitter account, manual?
    please more details.

Yes I developed the entire site by myself, from scratch. There is a CMS to manage posts, add cities, etc...

Twitter accounts are created manually, and use oAuth to do automatic posts. Each twitter account only has to be created once for each city. It takes approximately 5 minutes to add a new city, with its own subdomain.

The site will take some time to become popular, I'm aware of that, but two things that will help itself market itself is the free PDF poster that is generated, that has the website info at the bottom, and the automatic tweets that go out every time a sale is posted.

I don't expect the site to become even modestly known until next Summer, and then another couple of years to become popular in a few of the 100+ cities it will operate in.

If I can get 10 cities to be posting 100 listings per week, the site, in my opinion, will be successful. I expect to be earning about $100 per day in ad revenue at that level.

    Thanks for replying.

    B

Also, there are still a bunch of features to be added, the site is quite "bare bones" at the moment. In the coming weeks I will be adding a help system, a better homepage, a flagging system, facebook integration, etc...

The site is ok.. would you hand over the site completely to owner or you will support after sale?

Your website looks good. Very clean and clear. But I don't think you can get a big amount for it.

I think if you can bundle it as an app people driving around on the weekends would find this very useful, maybe pitch the idea to google?
There are many people who love to go to yard sales and find treasures, interior designers, etc

Awesome site. Have you though about maybe getting a better domain for marketing purposes? I think a catchy name will go well for that kind of business.

I haven't looked at your site but from the sounds of it. If you can get it marketed properly then I think you could get a decent amount for this.

REALLY good work dude!....awesome concept/idea and very good layout... I think something like this has huge potential.. I would probably suggest that u do not sell the site entirely...perhaps u should consider selling "shares" or a share of the business to investors if u looking for more money to invest into the business...

There is a lot to be done in the seo department and marketing but I think this idea will catch on with a 6 month investment of time and marketing dollars! It is really nice site, why do you want to sell this site. And if you want to sell your site than you can simply use domain selling service like Sedo. They will assist you about price and they will also helps you to sell your site.

My guess, the value to the right buyer could be between $3000 to $5000 with source code and some instruction.

A site like this is worth what someone is willing to pay for it! There are far to many variables to take into account to place an exact price.
