Google have just launched there own URL shortening service. I quite like it really but its a shame they can't make my links into subdomains.

It was started long ago, but recently opened for public use.
BTW, which URL shortening service offer subdomains as shortened URL? I haven't seen any.

Like Bitly. They provide a stat for number of clicks you have for a particular shortened link you shared.

one assumes google will use goo.gl to determine which sites are relevant and popular. i wonder how long it will be before the internet marketers and SEO crowd will start flooding the web with goo.gl shortened spam in an attempt to climb up the rankings.

btw, in case you're wondering, .gl stands for greenland.
