Contest $20 motel logo design - paypal

I'm after a new logo for 'motels direct dot com dot au'

I will pay $20 for the best design. Web 2.0 preferred.

EDIT: ***Final logo should be layered PSD.

Must be suitable for resizing from 800pxW down to favicon size.

I don't have any set ideas and will only comment on entries of style.

This is the quality of logo I expect from this contest in order to find a winner.

Something suitable that relates to finding a hotel online. Contest lasts till I find a winner, hopefully wrapped up in 24 hours or less but will go longer if needed.

Applicant may keep the design for their portfolio only. Applicant assigns all usage rights to me once payment has taken place.

@top's idea - yes, i do like the blue better, not sure on the font of the words, looking too generic. I'd be interested in seeing a green version if it's not too much trouble.

@raprap30 - sneak preview looks promising, certainly some clever aspects there, though the S looks sorta strange (though I guess understandable). I hope the final product will have some color. I'm looking forward to your updated entry.

Just had an idea for those looking for something to try, the I in the word direct could possibly incorporate the style of the i you see for tourist information. Not necessary, just throwin it out there.

@ajmalhuzz - you're first entry was more on track. It's motels, not motel & the arrow just doesn't look right. The logo, albeit nice, would need to incorporate both the m & the d based on the idea of it being letters. If you want to submit more I would work on your first entry making it more 2.0 with possibly shinier / shadow image if you know what I mean.

 

First, I made the M look like a house/hotel, by making a roof and three "pillars". Then the "ote" of the word "motel" is.... normal because I didn't want to overload it with bling. Next, I represented the "L" with a bed, representing bed.... Which would be in a hotel and then I let the "s" have a unique look. Lastly, I put the word "direct", followed by three fast forward symbol, symbolizing speed and the word "direct" in digital lcd-ish display... which looks web 2.0 with a shine ;D

@raprap30 - your use of the bed is clever but i can't say I like the other fonts. Also, the M is a lot like ajmalhuzz's entry which if yours is chosen as winner, would deserve part-payment to them at least unless you can show me that symbol is everywhere.

On the other hand using your L bed on ajmalhuzz's design is another option i'll consider which would then mean you would deserve part-payment for the bed idea. . .if i go that way.

@top's idea - thanks for another entry, the green is ok but thinking the blue one does look best.
