Getting bloggers to blog about your site....

I have a website that a lot of people are using (Currently about 860) to manage their personal finances. The site has been featured on a few blogs, but I would like to get more people to write about it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get people to blog about your site? I've been emailing the writers and asking them, but so far it's only had limited success (also, I'm just targetting finance related blogs right now).

The site in question is http://www.clearcheckbook.com

Offering them $$ to blog might help. But I'd personally say that if you do have interesting content, comment on others blogs. That should bring them to your blog, and if they do like the content, they will blog or link back.

The pay per post thing may be the way to go. Personally I'd post about it if the price was right :p

    www.payperpost.com

Check that website out. I'll be using it for the first time very soon. I've heard nothing but good stuff thus far.

I would do the comment thing - just leave relevant comments on every financial blog you can find. Most bloggers will probably be curious about your link, especially if they don't get hundreds of comments a day.

And payperpost looks pretty cool, I will check that out.

    Are you interested in "links"?
or just real people blogging about you?

Maybe you can add some interesting and useful tools related to finance on your website.

Another option to consider is to self-promote on your site. Maybe like a page like 'Link to Us', you can add a section like 'Review my finance site on your blog', or add a free finance tool on your blog, and give a link back.

Those are some of the ideas I had. Also try the posting comments on some financial blogs.

I agree, some sort of incentive should be there, or offer some advertising related bonusses in return. I review blogs and directories on blogs, but time is always the issue.

I've noticed that bloggers like recommendation as comments on their websites rather than email, although conversion ratio for me is less than 10% (of bloggers who publish an entry about my site).

The best thing to do is blog about a site and then integrate some deeplinks into that text.

I manage 7 blogs and I welcome relevant comments with backlinks as long as they are, indeed, relevant.

It can take some time, but if you scour the internet and add comments to related blogs, you should do fine.

I have also had success with www.forum-angels.com who sent a very good writer to one of my blogs within two hours of my request.
