Personally I'd suggest looking for something new/different and unique or making your own. The only reason I say this is because too many directories out there look way too brick and mortar. They all look the same. And they all get treated pretty much the same when it comes to being indexed and ranked by SE's.

That is a nice solution if you are a designer/developer or have very deep pockets to hire a custom script built.

Another option is develop the skill set required to build your custom template/theme while taking advantage of the backend and features available from a mature script.

Now to comment on the thread subject. I will not make comments on any script other than to say they all have their strong and weak points. The voice of experience says choosing carefully can save lots of headaches.

I have used a couple of the smaller free scripts but found I needed something more mature. I have used all the big 3 and have chosen LD for my current project. That doesn't mean I wouldn't use something else in the future.

My comments refer to paid versions. Free versions == link farm most often.

    Hi all,
    Thanks for your valuable ideas.
Can design & develop own script but it takes time to complete the entire process.
But have planned to do it after some days.

Need your suggestions in choosing the best one of all.
Either paid or free. Most of them here have a good experience and I'm in need of your
    help.

Personally I Never buy a script until I can test it a few of the directory scripts have free versions you can test out (on my own server) before you buy the full version.

I agree about too many look the same. When they look the same they just look like a generic link farm not worth the time for submission.
You can customize some of them fairly easy or hire someone so they will look a lot different then others.
Just get creative, cut hack and make it look pretty.:)

I always imagined Wordpress Classipress theme would pair up great with the seopressor plugin.

I recommend phpLD, it's not cheap ($80), but they have a superb support and also it included article submission.

I have wondered what you used. Not cheap but intriguing. I use the SOBI2 on a couple sites--ok for the price...

I would highly recommend PHPLD. Even the free version (version 2) is great for new website directories!

Have seen this product before. Its got a pretty nice layout and some nice features as well... Its great if you want your directory to look and feel more like a portal with more features.

I guess my only real concern is the "statistics" display.. I sort of cheapens the directory and makes it look spammy.. No one cares about that info, so why display it?

Am I the only one using Tolra?

You really should know what you expect a script to do, before deciding for which to go for. If you know a bit of programming, you can customise any script into something awesome.
