Sorry a bit of confusion there....
I didn't mean to say that the problems were "Filesonics" but was just trying to emphasise the fact that the problems were not with the individual computers of the users so that the "users" were not tearing their hair out wondering what they were doing wrong.
Fully aware that the problem lise with the UK ISP's proxying - it's really annoying - Filesonic isn't the only hosting site that have had these problems.

Check the forums of Virgin, O2 and probably BT as well.
I know recently there were problems with fileserve and several of the others over the past yaer or so.

Once again sorry for the confusion and appreciate all you are trying to do (does that sound like grovelling??)

 

i am seeing this error once in a while in some of the Fsonic links i am trying to download... i am a premium user and don't live in UK...

since i have been part of this forum i know these sort of thing happens and how to get around it..

my concern is that ordinary users might see this page and think the file is gone... this would definitely lower download stats.. i have only seen this error start two or three days ago...

the problem is random so cannot give you any link...

 

Try browsing and downloading with Chrome 6.0

i did and the same thing, its a random thing... also, not all downloaders use chrome, most use IE or Firefox, this shouldn't be happening and the links should be compatible to all browsers...

 

This has popped up as an error from time to time since the new download module was installed when a server goes down. If you see it and can copy the server number from your browser, forward it in a bug report to FS-IT. I had occasion to do this twice in the past week. The first time, FS-IT was able to restart the server within 15 minutes. The second time was on Monday with s15's HDD crash, which they still had back up by the end of the day. As there has been little server downtime over the past week and a half, it does not seem this would have had a significant impact on stats outside the UK.

 

Not to beat a dead horse, but you can see how the first statement would give the impression you were pointing the finger at FS-IT, right?

Hello Filesonic team, could you add ANY info to your manager what files were deleted becasue of abuse? If there is such thing, please tell me where.

Something poor like DMCA removed files at Fileserve should be enough for start.

 

Just thought I'd add my two pence, I'm a UK user with Bethere and I've had exactly the same problem as other UK users. However, despite people saying that Be uses a transparent or stealth proxy, my own research and tests have made me pretty certain that it doesn't use them.

Another thing worth mentioning is that I've never had any problems with any other sites, and I've been premium on a few of them (hf, rs and furk). This would seem to indicate that perhaps this problem is caused by the way the internet is handled in the UK at a higher than ISP level. Therefore it is understandable (though no less annoying!) that filesonic is having problems, as they are having to go through the same process as all the other file hosters to make UK users able to access the site correctly. So yes it is the ISPs/UKs fault that it doesn't work, but yes it is filesonic's fault that they haven't accounted/prepared for this as all the other file hosters have.

HOWEVER, with this said, Hish has been extremely on the ball with this to try and sort it out, responding to my private messages pretty quickly, and referring me to the support guys, so I have every confidence that they will sort the issue out, and furthermore he promised to refund any premium days lost. So yes it is annoying that things aren't working yet, but I think a bit of patience is called for!

 

I too am patiently waiting for this feature. A meta tag for blogs can't be that hard to implement...can it?

It's not difficult, yuiseto. The first step is to move from PPD to PPS and gear your posts accordingly. Good luck.

 

Why it must move PPD to PPS ???

I make 20-30 dollar by download and 3-4 sell per day.

If you can tell me how to make more sell maybe I will consider change to PPS
