All these while, I am using adwords to run my business but the conversion rate is about 1% to 2%. Just wonder, what is the conversion rate from Yahoo? Any idea? Please help. Thanks

I know that when I test ads in each (Gg and Yahoo) I can get better conversion rates based on the ads I run too. I would encourage you to test, test, test :)

Yahoo is pretty good and lots of folks are switching to from adwords because of the google crackdown. In terms of conversion rate, its hard to say. depending on your landing page. Some of them as high as 18%.

I agree! the best way to test which PPC machine converts more is simply replicate your campaigns in Adwords, Yahoo and MSN. I have encountered conversions as high as 23.8% for Yahoo campaigns in regards of persuading visitors to opt-in before and that exact same campaign of 25.7% for Google. Test it by referring to the same ad group with the same keywords and not looking at the whole campaign while analyzing your results. Tedious work but more accurate results.

You've totally got to test... and I'm finding better results (and less hoops to jump through) with Yahoo.

Adwords seems to bring in a lot more visitors, but the conversion rates for MSN/YSM are better (w/ less visitors). That seems to indicate that Adwords shows the ads to many unrelated search results.
If you're seeing low conversion rates in Adwords, check your adgroup and click on the link for 'search terms' (so you can see how visitors are seeing your ad). You'll find that many keyword phrases are not a good match and need to be added as a 'negative' for that adgroup.

Yahoo is much more lenient than Google, hence a better solution when starting out in PPC. After you learn the ropes and are more aware of how Google slaps people, then you should start on Adwords as well.

In my experience Yahoo converts very well for CPA offers, better than Google in most instances.

I get a ~16% avg conversion rate on Adwords across 50 landing pages, ~11% avg on Yahoo across the same 50 LPs. This a B2B focussed campaign.

BUT I've noticed that some very niche, lower-traffic landing pages that could never be confused for B2C do about 5% better in Yahoo. Anyone else experience this?

One thought I had was that businesspeople who are on Yahoo Finance or other business-focussed content sites within the Yahoo brand and need to do a search are likely to just use Yahoo search at that point. Perhaps Yahoo is better for B2B because the overall traffic volume is a bit more business-focussed than Google, which is just everybody?

I have found that it depends on the niche, but in my findings, yahoo is much more affordable than Google adwords.
