Hello word-press Dpers ...... my post is quite frank and clear - lately ive seen this url being used quite often like this one for example www.blog.web6.org/ it seems like he did something to get that blog in front of the main url name which is www.web6.org/ can anyone tell me - if i have my own hosted wp blogs How Do I Do This On My Hosted Server?????/
You can make this change under General Setting in the Wordpress Dashboard. Look for WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL).
If you include your keyterm as the subdomain, yes it will help with seo. This doesn't change the domain. It creates a 301 redirect for it. However, you may run into problems with existing urls for your site as well as backlicks. It is best to make the choice of a subdomain when starting the site.
you may run into problems with existing urls for your site as well as backlick --- thanks thats important -- I will stick to the bsics then
LOL! I am a she I guess i have to put some pics on my avatar ahaha. Well i have subdomain which is www.blog.web6.org and main domain (www.web6.org) and i have installed two wordpress on each of them, i run my free video tutorial for wordpress in www.blog.web6.org and personal blog on www.web6.org. So basically i run two blogs, and not redirected. To do this, i have set up a subdomain and install wordpress in this subdomain. I hope this is clear enough
Yes you can set this in your Wordpress Dashboard. 1. login as admin 2. visit yourdomain.com/wp-admin/options-general.php 3. change the WordPress address (URL) to http://www.yourdomain.com or http://yourdomain.com (whatever you want) 4. scroll down and click "save changes" Done!
KimiGermany's ---thanks that really clears it up now - it looks like youre using the host server naming it Example >> http://www.oahu-handyman.com and then in the blog WP you redireted in panel to http://www.web6.org/ ----- wow -- oaky
