Anyone check out the keyword tool recently... I was researching Steak and it was showing people typing in...

    Steak
    "Steak"
    [Steak]

    Anyone know why?

    broad searches, exact searches

    example:

steak can be steak sandwhiches, steak dinner, etc
"steak" or [steak] will be just that, no variations

What kind of keyword tool you are talking about? Is it for search volume of keywords or keyword suggester, I can't understand. Anyways you can use Google's keyword tools. Please let us know.

There are so many people who want to search for the same topic by using nearly same keywords.

Yeah, putting anything into quotations like that makes google find ONLY that. Like instead of searching for an abscure song lyric like, this: electric music lyrics. You might have better luck searching like this: "electric music" lyrics.

    Steak
    "Steak"
    [Steak]

are Google's notation for broad match, phrase match, and exact match, respectively.

So when you set up an ad group in your AdWords account, if you include keyword phrase in the keyword list then they can show your ad for any search phrase that contains both keyword and phrase (but not necessarily in that order, not necessarily side by side). For example, if the user searched for "the keyword split in a phrase", it would be a match and your ad might be shown.

If your ad group contains "keyword phrase" (phrase match) then they can show your ad for any search that contains the phrase keyword phrase. For example if the user searched for "it's another keyword phrase variation" then they could show your ad.

But if you ad group contains [keyword phrase] then they will ONLY show your ad in one case... when the search phrase is exactly keyword phrase.
