    Hey management,

I was just wondering because you have a vBulletin forum under Forum Management, why do you not have an IPB, phpBB, SMF, MyBB, or a XenForo forum as well? Just a quick question.

    Thanks,
    -AW-

Most of the people use and experiment Vbulletin.. And startes who use free ones either dont try to make extreme customizations!

So vbulletin has lot of discussion whereas others seems negligable!

    Hence it is avoided :)

vBulletin is the best script if you ask me, I think that most people that have a bit of money prefer vBulletin.

If there are enough existing topics to warrant a sub-section, it will be created like it was for vBulletin.

I think all the discussions about phpbb and SMF etc go on in their support forum. So, no need of a new section.

vBulletin can cost a lot of cash,, might be best to cut your teeth on phpBB first. It's free and has a very good support forum. Also it has lots of skins you can download free. ( 1,000 of free skins, and colours).

But once your forum gets big, and maybe making a bit of cash, then it's time to look at VB..

That's not the point of this thread, it's saying to make subforums.

Anyway on topic - I don't think their needed at this very moment.

Most people here seem to use vBulletin. IPB is making a bit of a comeback but vBulletin is by far the most popular :)

I;ve never even heard of XenForo (seriously). I could see a section for phpBB possibly, then again maybe just keepign all the "others" lumped together might be best.

if there are ever enough topics about something, they would be spun into their own sub-section (like vBulletin was).

phpBB is to forums,, What WP is to Blogs...

phpBB is huge,, but deep down, anybody using it for their forum (me).. dreams about having a VB board..

Well, to be honest, I'm weary of vBulletin. Especially since they've sued XenForo (which I honestly think is unethical and outright bullying). Their quality and stuff has really declined since Internet Brands took over.

If you actually wanna make your forum grow, and have a huge one, I'd suggest using PHPBB, only large forums use phpbb, or custom ones, I've never seen a large forum use IPB or VB, no large forum ever uses them, they use too much cpu/ram/bandwidth. I run on my sites on phpbb.

Doesn't seems so, vBulletin is getting way better since getting acquired by IB.

Maybe you are talking about Warez-BB LOL? I guess DP,WF & NP are small forums that's why they are using vBulletin

So you think is acceptable and ethical for people to steal code? (assuming the allegations are true and we will not know that until a court decides)

How do you know they were stealing code? Also, Kier left Internet Brands/Jelsoft primarily because he wasn't allowed to have a complete re-write of vBulletin 4. So I doubt he even had to steal code.

Besides, IPB 3 was a complete rewrite, phpBB 3 was a complete rewrite, MyBB 2 will be a complete rewrite, so why wasn't vBulletin 4 (or 5, for that matter)?

Besides, big company not suing a little guy? Gee? What about Monsanto vs. Mo Parr, McDonald's vs. anyone complaining at them? All of Microsoft's lawsuits?
