I will suggest you to go with ethical seo, if you want to continue this traffic flow to your websites.
But for that you need some patience while results are coming.
Because ethical seo takes time to get in rankings but will be for long term.

 

I would suggest hiring someone who is knowledgeable in the SEO field. You can get these freelancers from sites like odesk and elance

 

You can do some cheap PPC (if you niche is really specific...), Facebook PPC is low-cost, and very highly targeted. Definitely some SEO, article marketing, video marketing, social media... endless possibilities.

 

You could use mobile marketing and build yourself a huge list through an opt in with that budget then market the site directly to them-along with some other valuable content hopefully. Think up a viral campaign and the numbers would build over time.

$500 is nothing. It can only get you temporary links. You can not get permanent traffic for that amount of money. Permanent organic traffic requires money, work, time.

 

I'd outsource the seo to someone who I could pay on a monthly basis. Sometimes you can find someone to do this for a around $350 per month. So if you could afford this amount on a monthly basis you could build very good traffic to your site.

Although you only have $500 to start, If you could pay less than that on a monthly basis this would be a good way to get long term traffic.

Personally i think you should try saving the money and just put in alot of time and hard work in promoting the site yourself.
