Hello folks, well i own several web directories , and i have put some adsense units in those directories and i get like 2000 impressions but NO CLICKS at all .. so i was wondering if you get some money from adsense in Directories ?! so that i want to know if the problem is with me or with the directories themselves ? cheerz
Adsense font, text and URL should be matching to color of text color of directories example if you see adsense at above in this forum than it is matching with color of header title of time of this forum.
thanks for the reply, but where do you put these ads ? i mean did you put any ads in the submit page ( in the submission area ) ?! and how much do you gain per day ( avg ) ?
Unfortunately, you're not going to make much ad revenue from small-time web directories full stop. Webmasters rarely click ads, and no general users visit webdirectories, only the main ones like DMOZ and such likes. Making money from directories was eliminated by people setting up farms of rubbish directories precisely to profit from them.. Causing an obvious reverse effect because they came by in the masses. In order to make money from adsense your site must get some hits from the search engines. If all of your traffic is from webmasters submitting a link to your directory then you won't get any clicks.
Be careful with putting Adsense on your submission pages. I'm pretty sure that's against their TOS. Freelistfool has it right on the money. If all of your traffic is submitters, chances are good they are not going to click on listings or ads.
You have to build a site for a specific niche. Your site should have info that others need. Post fresh content often so they keep coming back. Don't forget to optimize your site for organic seo. Aim for the sweet #1-3 spots for your target keywords.
I rarely click on adverts when I submit a website, I believe others will do the same, say 0.1% clicks which will not provide any good revenue from adsense unless you have million+ visitors. Content websites have much better adsense click rates. Even a directory could have 1% to 4% clicks if impressions were all from actual visitors interested in the directory subject rather than webmasters.
