No, I'm not. I meant gold-plated rims. (made a spelling error) My car is going to be pimpass, and with me super-charging it, it's going to haul more ass than it already does. My friend has a Nissan SRT4 super-charged with 300 horsepower at the moment, but he's doing more work on it and will have 400 horsepower in about a month. Of course, he had his day pay for half of this (probably more than that), but I'm going to do all this to my car by myself.
that´s the thing i hate about (some) american cars. they have huge engines and everyone supercharge them. What´s nicer than an 6/8 cyl naturally aspired? Okey it has 300-400hp but how fast it really is? i mean on the track, not on the 0-400m (1/4mile).
Well right now my Pontiac Grand AM SE is a V6 6-cylinder automatic. It accelerates very quickly at the moment - it actually surprises me how fast it does when I put "the metal on the pedal". Not sure how fast it'll go with 400HP, but that's what I want to find out. I have my permit and will have my license by later 2007. Car insurance is very expensive in NJ. I got price quotes and couldn't find any cheaper than $3000 per year...most were around $4000 per year at $450-$600 per month. Yeah, ouch.
How much money will you have in this car once you've "pimped" it out? I don't understand the concept of purchasing a $12K car, and spending a pile of money to modify it. Why didn't you save your money for another six months or a year, and then buy an already fast car? Careful with modifications and insurance; if you think it's expensive now, wait until you have to insure all the new components. If you don't insure them, they will not be covered in a claim - theft or accident. Make good decisions. Sounds like you are already becoming a responsible 16-year old. I would've personally gone for a standard shift car, though, if speed and take-off power were something I desired in a car. I love driving a stick; all three of my cars have been standard five and six-speeds, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Good luck to you!
Hehe, that's what the \/\/ackos in this thread concluded when I told them I had automatic transmission. But why not just put money into a car that'll last me a good ten (10) years than save up money to buy another one?
Why would I? It always saves more money if you do it yourself, and that's what I'm doing. And on top of that, Mustangs and GTOs don't come standard with a super-charged engine or gold-plated rims.
<-- can't stand driving automatics. Standards all the way for me, hah! I have problems driving automatics actually. I remember once I was driving an automatic and I accidently slammed on the breaks coming into a turn because out of habit I meant to hit the clutch. Oh wells.
I used to think that too about automatics, especially with 'high performance' cars. I just think they are too boring. but if you live in a city with stop & go traffic...auto's beat standards all the way!
