What can I do to fix this

I have done everything to my site where marketing is concerned - How long does it take before Google puts my PR up from 0?

Also is the main page got too little content? I am trying to rank in the top 10 for "Pawn Shop" but unsuccessful. Looking at my competition, it is not that bad.

    :D

Google updates pagerank about every three or four months but there is no set schedule

And does PR affect my top 10 listing? If you run SEOQUAKE as a firefox addon.... It does not sort out the results according to high to low pagerank. But most of the PR0 are at the bottom!!!! I just want PR2 is it difficult to get.

pagerank doesn't affect serp. are you targeting the keyword "pawn shop" in your link anchor text? If so you may want to change it to something like "City name Pawn Shops" or "Pawn Shop in city". The reason is that "pawn shop" has 1.2 million targeted results meaning that it will be difficult to rank for this term. Its better to go after the long tail words first then work into the phrase "pawn shop".

I beg to differ. If you do a search in google.co.za for "pawn shop", there are less results in south africa. Google first shows the relevant South African search results. That is what I am aiming for.

Is there too little content in the main page? There rest of the site has more content than many other pawn shops.

PR affects SERP only for really popular phrases. It doesn't mean anything for really localised searches or very specific phrases.

I have a site with PR 0 and alexa rank 16M and it is the #1 hit for its keywords. The reason it ranks so well is because it is a business site and Google maps puts it at the top.

Do you have a physical presence to be able to use the same technique?

A site with 90 inbound links showing in Yahoo! Site Explorer where MOST are NOFOLLOW blog comments (many of the links are no long even showing up) and only coming from a few domains is not likely to rate higher than 0/10 in toolbar PR.

You want to get to 1/10? or 2/10? Build more links... and NOT links from NOFOLLOW blog comments. Make sure the links are FOLLOWed and that the pages they are on are indexed.

I have enough backlinks...Check out yahoo site explorer on http://www.capitalpawn.co.za - I have plenty of links compared to others...So do a search in Google.co.za for "pawn shop" - Why am I in page 3-4 instead of 1. The person in page 1 has also got a PR of 0 and has no backlinks! Explain this to me?

You might have plenty of links, but not quality links. I can get thousands of links using xrumer blasts. But do you think that Google is going to give me top 10 ranking because I used spam to gain links?

well i guess it takes a lot of time for google to rank your page. you just have to be patient enough to wait though

Its all about links, get them from related sites and don't use the exact term in every single link, don't worry about the pagerank, as the guys above say its only updated when Google feels like it, the page rank they use isn't the one you see.
