Hello, I run an investment-guide website and I have a few Adsense ads here and there... However, most of them show ads like "Free Wordpress themes" and other irrelevant ad material. I know that the Wordpress ads generate like $0.02 per click, so I want them out! I run my site with Wordpress, but all my material is about different kinds of investing, and I haven't a single "wordpress" keyword on my site. Does anyone else have this problem?
this can happen if your site is new. usually within 24 hours or so, you start getting targeted ads on new sites. just give it a little time and it will be taken care of by itself. if you still see the same problem after a day or 2, then use "adsense section targeting" (just google it and you will find all the info you need) that will surely fix it.
Hm... the site has been up for over three days now, and Adsense section targeting doesn't seem to solve the problem. Maybe I'll wait a bit more. Thanks for replying guys!
Build more contents in your site that is related with investment and you will be served with more relevant ads.
In the short term, meta keywords will instantly get adsense ads to target correctly. This is especially important on a site with very few actual words, like an image library. You probably need to clean your site up a bit, make sure important words are in headings etc.
Well it seems you are not using adsense ads channels. Create a Channel called Investment and Investors and then place the new Adsense Unit
Thanks for the advice. I am using channels for this website, and I tried doing some adsense section targetting, and now most of my pages and posts seem to show relevant ads! However, the front page of the website is still showing only Wordpress ads. How come most other pages show relevant ads, yet the homepage is still so wrong? The url is www.investing-guides.com (Also, as a side question; Are the ad placements bad?)
Ignore the comment about channels - they are internal names for your own use, they won't tell Google what your site is about. Ok, at 3 days old the adsense script is really just guessing what your page is about. Meta keywords help in the first instance, as do headings, but the content won't help at all. After a few days (less if your site is really popular, more if it is new or slow) the adsense bot will come around and actually read the text. THEN you should lose the wordpress ads. The adsense spiderbot is different to the general google one. Even if your site is indexed in google this doesn't mean it is indexed by adsense.
Try this.... Go and visit a bunch of sites all related to "Cars" and then look at your site. You should see ads related to cars. Google targets your interest.
You can change this too. Its under my account, account settings, Interest-based Ads Preferences. Doesn't explain why *I* also get wordpress ads on his site though ... I came straight from some financial sites before his.
Oh, very interesting... There's a lot I still don't know about Google and Adsense. Thanks for the helpful posts
This can happen when your new site, Quảng cáo or not to nham nội dung is your site, it will be the content thị quan tâm you that the information that is write the browser on the. This altogether Normal.
As some people still haven't noticed, the ads Google serves aren't ALWAYS keyword related but can be related to repetitive searches on Google (Say you were looking for a Honda and possible car dealers, so you will probably see a random car ad on a site you visit which has adsense). Either way, you're still making cash
