How to check the Google Indexed Pages accurately??

Discussion in 'Google' started by dragonfabregas, Sep 27, 2010.

    Hi to all,

one month ago, i did a link rel="canonical" to some pages of my site for some duplicated issues.. And, when i "site:mysite.com", it came out 2300 (decreased by 40%, really cool). But when i "site:mysite.com inurl:html", it came out 6500, i dont know why "site:mysite.com inurl:html" result is more than twice than "site:mysite.com".
My second question is "Is there any way to check my Indexed pages accurately"

    Thanks for your feedback!

I think that is only external way to check your indexed pages in Google, else you can check it in your Google webmaster tool too.

    Thanks Globaleyeglasses.
You mean that check the "URLs in web index" (3260 of 6006, well just half of URLs i submitted)? And i think "URLs in web index" is part of Indexed URLs, how to find out the other Indexed URLs??

First of all, inurl:html is not any search string so it is not adviceble to know exact results. you can put any word like inurl:dating to check how many times dating word is used in search engines. But if you try to know how many time html is used in your site then I think all the pages would use it if one page is used.

Easiest way to find out if Google indexed your website :

    1) Go to google.com

    2) type in "site:" without the quotes, and add your site (i.e. site:mydomain.com)

    3) Hit enter

    4) Find out if your website is indexed, if it does not show up, it's not indexed!

about "inurl:html" is just a example, actually, i type "inulr:wholesale" which result twice than just "site:mysite.com".. Maybe goolgle intentionally shows a wrong or unaccurate result, because this is a personal information... And i will try to find out it from goole webmaster, although i have not understood how to make use of it...

Apparently, it's not a quantity problem.. The most essential is non-duplicated and real content. It's really difficult to me..heh
