well , LOOOOLLL , they have to know while fileserve is groving like a tsunami, filesonic is a small wave. With these rules, they hang themselves. Write down
this day and follow my word. They were waiting to see rapidshare's dead, but I can forecast rapidshare will dig filesonic in ground in few months if they did not
    step back.

Actually this rule has been there for a long while now...

Two days is too little time to judge. Anyway if you come back a few posts, Banjowood very elegantly explained that you should always keep watch for how many sales you're getting, even if you're on PPD.

If you check that out regularly, maybe you'll find that PPS will work a lot better for your overall profits :)

    Regards,

    Rome

Welcome aboard, Naija. Nice to have you here. You would've thought Rome could come up with a better cover than "Sam". How about "Peggy"? (C'mon, those commercials are funny!)

Emails haven't been going out for about two weeks. I'm not sure why. The question was brought up last week but FS never made a reply.

Rome undersells the the benefit of this rule to you. Before it went into effect on July 1st with the new PPD/PPS options, FileSonic actually did not credit downloads from premium users. Thus, the rule INCREASES your downloads when compared to counts before the rule change. Regardless, the drop your seeing is related to free users. Their counts had been inflated because they were mistakenly being given premium privileges. If you check the message boards of forums where you post, many of them are holding off on large downloads for now until their download managers update their code. You should see an uptick in a few days, but don't be surprised to see an uptick in sales as well if you are providing popular shares. Keep an eye on those figures. It could easily become more profitable for you to switch to PPS.

Ru from filesonic is a mixed blessing - it's ok 'till someone rips your stuff 'en mass'. Personally on balance I'd prefer it not to be possible.
For those who worry about such things for the purpose of mirroring there is an easy answer ...
Just get yourself a cheap hosting account with someone like servage and use it as your 'bank' - ru from it to anywhere you like. So, instead of uploading to a file host, then ru'ing from there to other file hosts, just upload everything to your own webspace via ftp, then ru from there to any file host you like. It's actually much quicker anyway in the end as it's just so easy to replace deleated files.
There are lots of cheap hosts out there - I mention servage as they give 750gig of space and 7500gig of transfer per month for just £4.50 uk pounds (per month), which is more than most will need, and frankly if your exploits can't cover £4.50/month then it's probably time to try something else lol ;0
Oh - don't let people download from your own webspace for obvious reasons !!! Just password protect the folder (you can do this in 'cpanel' very easily) (cpanel comes with your hosting account).

Good points. Some will "rip your stuff 'en mass" regardless but at least they'll have to put some effort into it.
