Power of Profile Links

I have read many times that people create profile to get backlink to their site.
So, How useful is profile link ? have you ever use this technique. ?
What are Pros & cons of building a lots of profile links.

 

Profile links are generally not good enough to get you rank high for a competitive keywords. However many webmasters use their own software / scripts to automate the profile creation process and get literally thousands of profiles just because a link is a link I use profile backlinks to diversify the link profile of my site. After all backlinks from trusted and established sites are always welcome.

 

You will find alot of pros and cons on this. Regardless, they still work.

 

I have heard mixed results but saw a couple actual real examples of profile links pulling in rankings. The trouble with this is Google can simply flip a switch on them and then where will you be? Having a robust back link profile is always recommended.

Pros are they are dirt cheap and cons are risky, cheap, and hard to build with relevancy.

 

If you want to rank well you have to make your site actually relevant. This is not done by hurling a bunch of arbitrary links at it. Its that simple. Don't waste your time on things that do not serve end users any sort of purpose.

I tried this one, it seem to be safe way to get back links than putting a signature or inserting links to the content... it seem to be a legitimate way to place links.

In my own experiences, profile links would be taken as normal back links in search engines' eyes, too. But, those profile links from authority sites like search engines themselves, twitter would be really helpful for prompt indexing purpose for new sites.

Profile links are not very useful for your ranking. But you get a link weight. Also, some profile links give you some traffic.

 

After reading all your response, I made conclusion that profile link are normal link back and if you can do it then It is not bad. Better if one get some software to build profile link.

 

Profile links are good and google will index your website atleast..

 

I only use profile links for branding but in terms of PR I'm not sure if it helps the site to improved it's PR.

 

Yes as always, you should diversify in your link back strategy also

 

I made some profile backlinks in the past and they are not count all on google. Some of them yes, but most of them not. yahoo has count a lot more of them.
Well it's not really a + for you but it help you to get more links weight. That's it.

profile links are hit or miss in my opinion, i have paid for some in the past and not seen great results

 

still i don't get idea about how to do profile back links.

 

I was analyzing the backlinks of one of my competitors and noticed that 75% of his links are from profile links. This keyword is pretty competitive and he got his site up there in less than 4 months. So those who think this doesnt work is not doing something right because it worked for this guy and his sites.

 

Profile link is good but relevant link is better

 

In now days...It is very imporatnt..The links of profiles known as a Paul and angela backlinks.

 

Profile links [used to be] good, but all these have been used by spammers so aggressively that it no more carries the value once it used to, nevertheless a backlink is a backlink and it will have some value, so there is nothing wrong in building them, but if you think you can make your website rank with major portion of links coming from profile links, then that is not gonna happen, link diversity is what is the order of the day.
